Why 'House Of Hammer' is A Must-Watch

I had avoided watching this Docu-series for the past few months because I honestly didn't know who and what it was about. I thought it was another oust piece on a seedy producer or Director who had spent his career abusing women.

My 19-year-old niece then googled who it was and my mouth was agape from the shock. It was the hottie from the movie 'Lone Ranger' and 'Mirror Mirror. I thought she had to be mistaken. He was basically a real-life prince in my eyes. He was gorgeous.

He also seemed kind and very charming. Though his movies fizzled at the box office, I still thought he was a very talented actor. To my dismay, she then explained the allegations were made against him on January of 2021 via Twitter/IG. She then showed me some pretty racy text messages said to be between Hammer and the anonymous source who was making the allegations. After reading those intense texts, I decided to see what the big deal was about, and boy, oh boy. I was not disappointed.

As I described in the beginning, this all started in January 2021. Instead of focusing on the abuse allegations, the media and general public decided to focus on Hammer's Cannibal comments and seemed to completely miss the mark and didn't hear the victim(s) that had come forward. Much like it's main subject, this docu-series pulls you in fast. Before you know it, you are sucked in to it. As you watch, you realize that Hollywood knew of his proclivities for "BDSM," but because of his power and stardom, he was able to avoid those questions being asked.

It is only until Hammer's Lurid texts message come forward do we get to see how he portrays himself with those he deems 'worthy' of his attention. When reading some of the texts you think, "Omg, this is the real-life Christian Gray!"

As you continue to watch you, along with the victims, we soon learn his dark sexual appetite is more than just BDSM. It is all-consuming, very intense, and traumatic.

Once they are out of it they realize they were not in a BDSM relationship with Hammer, but one that was manipulation and abuse at its finest. These victims want him to be held accountable for his actions.

As dark and disturbing as this docu-series is. It is a must-watch for every woman. I recommend watching it with as many of your girlfriends as possible. These victims not only give you a harrowing tale about the rollercoaster relationship they shared with him. They also help clearly identify common red flags every woman should be aware of when dealing with a master manipulator like Hammer.

From his Classic Love bombing to his very early on sharing super intimate details of his life to reel the victims in. As well as showing up unannounced at some of the victims' homes. These are all manipulation tactics women need to be aware of.

Another thing this docu-series sheds light on is the need for us as a society to remove the stigma surrounding BDSM and those who choose to practice it. I often think if we as a society and culture embraced everyone's legal sexual preferences, BDSM included, maybe these women would have been able to spot the abuse masked as BDSM sooner. We all need to remember that BDSM is not illegal. Not having someone's consent is.
