This happened only 3 hours from where I currently live now. Back in 1921, on March 8th this child was found floating in a pond O’Laughlin Stone Company in Waukesha, Wisconsin. They estimated his age to be around 5–7 years old. He had blond hair and brown eyes. A tooth was also missing from his lower jaw. The clothing that he was wearing suggested he was from a wealthy family. He had been in the water for several months.

They had determined he had been hit with a blunt instrument. The police had displayed his body at a local funeral home trying to get someone to come forward and claim the body. However, no one had claimed the young boy’s body.

Oddly enough a worker from O’Laughlin Stone Company remembered a couple came about five weeks before the body had been found and asked if he had seen a young boy in the area. She was crying and the man was looking in the direction where the body would be found some weeks later. Like he knew where the body was. They were never seen again.

A possible scenario was that someone had abducted the young boy they had grown to call Little Lord Fauntleroy and dumped his body in a different area to avoid identification. Once the police halted the investigation a local woman raised money for his burial. He was buried in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.

After he had been buried people had seen a woman on three separate occasions wearing a veil and placing flowers on his gravesite. People believe she knew the identity of the boy.

In 1949 Milwaukee, Wi medical examiner felt there could be a connection with a boy that went missing around the same time Little Lord Fauntleroy was found.

Homer Lemay was six years old and disappeared around the same time. They say Lemay’s father got into an accident during a trip to South America. The boy was being taken care of by a family friend called the Nortons. No evidence of the Nortons could be found.

So what had happened to this poor young boy? Who could even have it in them to hurt such a young boy? Once again no justice for this young man. I just hope the person that hurt him suffered in some form before he had passed.

There was a rumor on the lady that had been looking for the young boy weeks before he had been found. They say she had committed suicide in the same pond as the boy. The police used dynamite in the pond to try and bring a corpse to the surface, with no luck.

Detectives think the woman and man she had been seen with sent the boy off to go play while they made love and the boy fell in the pond. Two things ruled out that theory. The deep cut on the back of his head indicates he was hit with something and he had little water in his lungs. Had he drowned there would have been a lot of water in his lungs. The boy was likely dead before he hit the water.

There had even been a reward to have someone come forward with no luck. Then they had someone come forward and said they had sold the clothes to the boy. The police had no way to determine who actually purchased the clothes.

One more promising lead was when a man came forward and said that was his nephew. He explained to the police that his sister's ex-boyfriend kidnapped the kids and threatened to kill them. The police went to the man of the kidnapped children only to find his children home and alive with him. Another lead that did not help the police.
