1. Ted Bundy:

Ted Bundy was a charming and intelligent American serial killer who preyed on young women during the 1970s. He would often approach his victims in public places, gain their trust, and then abduct and murder them. Bundy would sexually assault and mutilate his victims' bodies. He was eventually caught, convicted, and sentenced to death. His case gained significant media attention, and he is remembered as one of the most notorious serial killers in American history.

2. Aileen Wuornos:

Aileen Wuornos was a female serial killer who operated in Florida from 1989 to 1990. She targeted men, often engaging in sexual encounters with them before killing them. Wuornos claimed that her murders were acts of self-defense against men who had assaulted or threatened her. She was convicted of seven murders and received multiple death sentences. Her case sparked debates about the influence of childhood trauma, mental illness, and the death penalty.

3. Charles Manson:

Charles Manson was the leader of a cult known as the Manson Family. In 1969, he directed his followers to carry out a series of murders, most notably the Tate-LaBianca murders. Actress Sharon Tate and several others were brutally killed in their homes. Manson's motive was to incite a race war he called "Helter Skelter." Manson and his followers were arrested and convicted for the murders. Manson died in prison in 2017.

4. Jeffrey Dahmer:

Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the "Milwaukee Cannibal," was an American serial killer who targeted young men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He would lure his victims to his apartment, where he engaged in sexual acts with them before killing and dismembering their bodies. Dahmer was eventually caught when one of his intended victims managed to escape and notify the police. He was convicted of 17 murders and sentenced to life in prison but was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.

5. John Wayne Gacy:

John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer and rapist who sexually assaulted and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978. He lured his victims to his home under the guise of offering them employment or money. Gacy would then torture, sexually assault, and strangle them. He buried most of his victims beneath his house, earning him the nickname "Killer Clown" due to his side job as a clown performer. Gacy was convicted and executed by lethal injection in 1994.

6. Osama bin Laden:

Osama bin Laden was the founder and leader of the extremist terrorist organization al-Qaeda. He orchestrated several significant terrorist attacks, including the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Bin Laden and his followers believed in an extremist interpretation of Islam and aimed to establish a global Islamic caliphate. After an international manhunt, bin Laden was killed by US special forces in 2011 in Pakistan.

7. Joseph Stalin:

Joseph Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953. His rule was marked by widespread purges, forced labor camps (known as Gulags), and mass executions. Stalin's policies caused the deaths of millions of people, either directly through executions or indirectly through famine and harsh living conditions. His regime was characterized by totalitarian control and suppression of dissent, leading to immense suffering and loss of life throughout the Soviet Union.

8. Adolf Hitler:

Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He was responsible for initiating World War II and orchestrating the Holocaust, in which six million Jews and millions of other individuals were systematically persecuted, tortured, and murdered. Hitler's fascist ideology promoted Aryan racial superiority and sought to establish a totalitarian regime. His reign of terror caused immense devastation and loss of life, and he ultimately died by suicide in his bunker as Allied forces closed in on Berlin.

9. Pol Pot:

Pol Pot was the leader of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. Under his rule, an estimated 1.7 million people, roughly a quarter of Cambodia's population, died due to forced labor, execution, and mass starvation. Pol Pot aimed to establish an agrarian communist society by forcibly evacuating urban areas, abolishing currency, and implementing collective farming. The atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime are considered one of the most brutal genocides in modern history.

10. Charles "Lucky" Luciano:

Charles "Lucky" Luciano was an Italian-American mobster and one of the founding members of the modern American Mafia. Luciano played a significant role in organized crime during the Prohibition era, particularly in illegal gambling, racketeering, and prostitution. He established the Commission, a governing body that brought together various Mafia families to resolve disputes and coordinate criminal activities. Luciano's influence and control over organized crime earned him a fearsome reputation, but he was eventually convicted of operating a prostitution ring and spent years in prison before being deported to Italy.
