The water ghost takes place near Lake Geneva. Prepandemic in the early spring of 2018, The stevens family life would change forever. Bill tells the story of the revenge of the water ghost. His wife Lora worked as a secretary for a small law firm. Sally Fields was a 13-year-old teenager who tragically died the first week of March. No one truly knew what had happened to her on that faithful day. Rumor has it that she drowned while hanging out with some friends of hers.

Cindy was her best friend and was supposed to meet her at the lake that tragic day and Cindy had sprung her ankle and couldn't make it that day. A few other friends were supposed to meet at the lake also but couldn't make it. So Sally decides to hang out by herself, and she had no idea someone was watching her. He was a stranger passing through town and came to find out he was an evil stranger. He did things to Sally you only read about in the papers or hear about on social media sites.

Sally was missing for at least a week before the police discovered her body. The friends of Sally were traumatized, and no one was more traumatized than Cindy, her best friend, for not making it to the lake that day. The stranger had left the area and moved on. No one had seen the stranger who had tragically murdered Sally, and they had no clues to follow or witnesses. By this time, Sally's funeral had taken place a few days ago. The situation seemed hopeless.

Sally's family had taken their story to the new media looking to get some help. Hoping someone had seen the stranger and gave a description of him. They had a press conference where Sally's mother pleaded with the town folk for help. A week later, and everything seemed hopeless, someone came forward with a description of the stranger passing through the town of that tragic day.

Cindy would have dreams of her best friend Sally, and in those dreams, she would be trying to tell Cindy how the man looked so they could catch her killer. Cindy was frightened and confused about her visions that always took place at the lake. Cindy spoke with her mother about images she was experiencing at night.

Cindy or her family didn't understand the images she was seeing. Trying to talk with the police about these matters wouldn't help Sally. Cindy referred to Sally as the water ghost, and her mom asked her why she called her that name, and Cindy replied that she looked like a ghost in the form of water. Sally became so angry that somebody hadn't caught her killer.

Sally, convinced that the police might never catch her killer, made her angry. She felt cheated that she would never be able to accomplish her dreams and goals. Sally made it her business to be with Cindy every day until the police catch her killer. Doing the course of the investigation, they discovered that the killer killed nine other teenage girls. She said he must stop killer more teenage girls. She asked why he wasn't locked up for life. Cindy told them they had no objective evidence to convict him, so they gave him a plea deal. The community was outraged to hear that the state gave him a plea deal one after the other. Cindy was able to communicate with Sally, but no one believed her. Cindy nicknamed her the water ghost because of her ghost-like image in the form of water. Unfortunately, to this day, her killer was never arrested for his brutal crime.
