The Silent Shadows

Detective michael harris stared at the crime scene, a chill feeling has been runned down his spine.The crime room was dimly lit and was a chaotic mess,overturned furniture, shattered glass and bloodstains on the walls.The victim was a very wealthy businessmen his name was Richard monroe, lay dead on the floor, a single gunshot in the head.

Harris feel the case is something big.He had seen many crime scenes,but There was an mystery in this case,and it was like a puzzle.As he walked and looked around the room,he feel that something isn't adding up.

Harris gone to his home in evening.At night a call came to harris and he rushed to the crime scene.It was a report that suggest something braking in gone wrong, but there was no forced entry it raised more questions than answers and it was like the killer had vanished into thin air.

Harris crouched down to see the monroes dead body, he examine the crime scene with focus. The room was filled with lack of fresh air and the smell of fear,in an atmosphere of tension and stress.He noticed some details in there, a framed photograph on the wall,the glass shattered but the picture is damged.He seen a image of monroe with a mysterious women, Their smile were frozen in time.

"who are you, what happened here?" harris whispered under his breath.

The detective's first job was to interview the closest relatives of the victim. Elizabeth monroe's wife was sitting in the living room, her eyes become red from crying.

harris meet her with an empathy,understanding the pain she must be feeling.

"Mrs.monroe,im detective harris. I'm here to find out what happened to your husband.Does he have any enemies or anything unusual happened lately?"

Elizabeth wiped away her tear and said "Richard was a good man detective. We share our troubles,like any couple,but nothing could lead to this.He didn't have enemies in my knowledge."

The detective studied her carefully, looking for any signs of manipulation.He asked her "Did you're husband mention a name rebecca? because i found a picture of them together."

Elizabeth surprised and said "Rebecca? i don't know no one with that name.Who is she?"

Harris replied "Thats what im trying to find out.It seems like something is missing there's more to find out,"harris replied cryptically.

As he continued his investigation he found out that rebecca was an missing link in monroe's life.He started to dig more on this case and he dig more the more mysterious this case became.Harris got the monroes phone record revealing the late night calls before his death and some unusual messages send to an untraceable number.

Harris visited monroe's office on the 10th day of this case,monroes office was in a tall skyscraper.He was greeted by the secretary who eyed him with suspicious.

She asked "Detective, what made you bring here?"with a cold tone.

"Im investigating the death of monroe and i understand that he worked here.Can you tell me that is he had any enemies or there were any problem within the company?"

The secretary hesitated a moment before responding and said "Mr.monroe was a important person in this company, there were no problems but he received some threatening emails in the past. We never took them seriously."

Harris thought threatening emails?.Another puzzle also came into this case.He requested access to monroes email and look through his email to find some clues.

It was night a he is still checking emails and suddenly he discovered some messages send from an anonymous person.They were filled with some warnings and some threatS.The detectives mind has been confused by trying to connect the dots.

The next day harris called meeting with his case team.They gathered in a conference room surrounded with whiteboards filled with notes and some photographs of the crime scene.

"More than break in there is more the have to uncover in this case" harris began."Monroe's receiving threatening emails from an anonymous user and also there is a women named rebecca in the picture we found from the crime scene,so we need to find her and we need to find the person who killed monroe."

The team started following every leads from tracing the anonymous emails to identifying who was rebecca.Hours has been changed into days, they worked very hardly to uncover the truth about monroe's murder.

One evening harris received an call from an anonymous user.The voice was distorted like a whisper in the darkness.

"Meet me at the abandoned warehouse on 6th street. I have information about monroes killer."

Harris hesitated then he realised there is no other option.He informed his team and headed to the location told by that person,the warehouse looking old in the night.

The detective entered the warehouse safely, the echo of his footsteps were filled in the empty building.A person came from the shadows that person face was covered with darkness.

"You re detective harris" with a raspy voice."I know who killed richard monroe."

Harris heart started beating more in his chest as he listened to his sound. The pieces of puzzles finally began to started finding its places,leading him to a shocking information that would change the nature of the investigation.

Back at the office harris gathered his team for a final explanation. He revealed the identity of the monroes killer and the motive of this crime.The pieces had finally began to fall in the places.

As they enjoying because they found the killer a twisting turn happened a call has come to harris phone by an officer who has given a job to follow the person told by that anonymous person.

"Detective,the person you asked me to follow was dead 1 month ago, the lead you got is fake its not real".
