'Small Town Murder': The True Crime Comedy Podcast Phenomenon
The Premise Murder can't be funny, can it? These two a**holes disagree and prove that a horrible story can be told with wit and levity whilst still respecting the victims. The comedy flows from the surreal madness of tiny towns, bungling police forces and most of all EVIL MURDERERS who deserve to be taken down a peg or nine.
Matt RichardsPublished 6 years ago in Criminal Best Investigative Journalism Websites
In the technological age, print publications are rare. Most people get their news and information either directly from online news sources, like the digital versions of the New York Times or Washington Post, or, more often, second-hand through social media. This ease of information access is both a blessing and a curse: there is an abundance of information and news for your consumption, free and right at your fingertips, but at the same time, anyone can say anything they like on the internet. Shoddy research, questionable interpretations, and more can make good reporting hard to find. But it's out there, if you know where to look. That's why, now more than ever, investigative journalism websites are extremely important. Some of the next best investigative journalists of all time could come from these sites.

Our fascination with true crime in unmatched. Cold cases, serial killers, unjust sentences—the world of true crime is no longer limited to daytime TV. And podcasts lend themselves perfectly to the telling of true crime tales—over the course of a season, they can get in-depth about intense, confusing, and shocking cases, or give you the highlights in a one-case-per-episode manner. However you prefer, podcasts are changing the game when it comes to true crime. And it's not just a matter of telling the stories: in many of these podcasts, the team does their own investigation, presents their own findings, and gives you the opportunity to interpret the evidence right along with them, just as the police, detective, even FBI have done already. Here are the best true crime podcasts of 2018.

Most of us have daydreamed about being a super-spy after watching a cool spy movie. Or, at least I have. With me, it was mostly after watching Totally Spies, because I was a lame-ass high schooler who had no friends.

While you may find it a bit strange that your friend is a little over-the-top obsessed with mysteries and criminality, many of us feel a strange degree of closeness to the otherwise dark and otherworldly realities so often associated to them. Mysteries and psychological horrors are the best kind of late night movies for these kids, oftentimes called "crime-obsessed."
