Shattered Reflections
Detective Michael Harris stared at the crime scene before him, the dim light of the streetlamp casting an eerie glow on the abandoned warehouse. Raindrops echoed in the silence, creating a rhythmic symphony on the wet pavement. The air was thick with tension as he approached the yellow tape, his worn-out trench coat absorbing the chilling drizzle.

As if slurred speech and being imbalanced was the only way to have fun when you’re in high school.

But everything came off in a brighter hue. Detective Jameson straightened his tie. It was new, if anyone cared to ask, though they wouldn’t. Ties weren’t important, but Jameson knew it was the small details that made him look the part.

The whole fiasco was settled (as far as his part went), and he e-mailed the rather raunchy pictures he took to the wife who immediately copied them over to her lawyer.

Murmurs of Misleading
Murmurs of Misleading Analyst Elena Rodriguez remained in the tranquil back street, gazing at the crime location before her. The air was thick with strain as the yellow crime location tape fluttered in the breeze, denoting where Carlos Mendez, a nearby finance manager, had met his troublesome end. The homicide had every one of the makings of an exemplary whodunit, however as Elena dove further into the examination, she found a story of misdirection that reverberated through the halls of force.
