Fallen Angels: When Female Prison Workers Go Bad
So you've most likely been familiar with this current story by now. The news broke over the last weekend of April 2022 that Casey White, a convicted murderer, had gone missing after escaping from a Lauderdale County, Alabama prison. Also missing is one of the prison's jailers, Vicky White (no relation), and like many who heard about this news story when it first hit, I thought, "It may come out that she's in on it." Sure enough, a few days after the news first broke, that's exactly what happened, as it was on Monday, May 2 that we heard the added development that Vicky helped Casey escape from prison.

Starved for Attention: The Tale of Sherri Papini
I actually remembered when this story broke: November 2, 2016. On that day, Sherri Papini, 34 at the time, disappeared while jogging. She was found on Thanksgiving Day, and had maintained her story that she had been abducted and held hostage by a pair of Hispanic women, even doing so in August 2020, when investigators became suspicious regarding her story. Then, on March 3, 2022, another story broke: Sherri Papini had been arrested--charged with staging her abduction. Oh man. This was a bit of a local story in my case; it came from Northern California, but local news here in Southern California was all over it. In the time that has passed since the arrest, so many details have come out.

Sydney was well known for her skills in fishing. In school she used to play basketball and golf. Her friends and family remember Sydney as being a kind and a very hardworking woman. She even suffered scoliosis as a teenager. After graduation, she began working at her local Menards store. At some point in her life she suffered from anxiety and depression . Just days before her disappearance Sydney had talked about her worsening mental health with her family. So her family drove her to the doctor and her doctor had prescribed antidepressants. Unfortunately, this was the last time her family would ever see and speak to Sydney Irene Loofe.
