Indeed all that glitters is not gold. Looking at all the beautiful pictures that Chris and Shanann shared on social media, the beautiful smiles, touching messages, and beautiful family, one would believe in a happily ever after. But also that truly the devil exists, as some of us may know that all this was taken away by none other than Chris himself.

Since behind bars, he has written letters to Cherlyn Cadle(novel writer)detailing what truly happened, which has turned into the book The Murders of Christopher Watts. According to him, he has decided to come clean to clear Shannan’s name, as we might have seen that a lot has been circulating on the internet due to his lies.

Chris had previously told the police that the reason he killed Shanann was that she had strangled their two daughters after he had asked her for a divorce, but it turns out that was all a lie. He had spent months thinking and planning her painful demise.

“He told me he would daydream about killing Shanann. She would be yelling at him or be upset about something, and he wouldn’t fight back, but he would just stand there and just daydream about what it would be like to kill her.' said Cadle.

Watts said that even before he argued with Shanann, he had gone to four-year-old Bellas’s room first, then Celeste, and used a pillow to smother them. l can’t even imagine the poor girl’s faces as they struggled to breathe.

This was the same man who had taken them out during the day for a lovely family outing and pretended as if he loved them, knowing pretty well that he would end their life later on. How sick and evil can one be?

The twisted and cold-blooded father then calmly went back into bed with his wife, created an argument with her then strangled her to death.

“Isn’t it weird how I look back, and what I remember so much is her face getting all black with streaks of mascara? Her eyes filled with blood; as she looked at me, and she died. I knew she was gone when she relieved herself.”, writes the author.

“After Shanann had passed, Bella and Cece woke back up. I’m not sure how they woke back up, but they did. Bella’s eyes were bruised, and both girls looked like they had been through trauma. That made the act that much worse.”

I understand that he was shocked, but l can't believe that he was unhappy that the girls were up. It should have dawned on him that it wasn't their time yet, and what he was doing was wrong. They were so young and had a life ahead of them.

It was then that he wrapped his wife in a sheet and bundled her into the car while his terrified daughters watched.

“The darkness inside of me had won; it was still in me, though, I thought maybe permanently.” I felt evil, swallowed up by this thing inside of me. I felt like I could kill anything and be justified for doing it.”

Soon after, he drove them to the oil company where he used to work. According to the book, as he dropped Shannan, “she landed facedown “ and partially gave birth to the baby boy she was carrying.

Watts told the author: “She landed face down; I remember being so angry with her that I was not going to change how she landed.” This part makes me so angry. I don’t think this guy is okay upstairs. What does he mean he was mad at her; she hadn’t done anything wrong; he was in the wrong, not her. It is very annoying for him to say l want to clear her name, then turn around and say this.

He then smothered Celeste with her favourite blanket that she was carrying before dropping her into an oil tank.“I couldn’t believe how easy it was just to let her drop through the hole and let her go. I heard the splash as she hit the oil”.

I’m lost for words, honestly. Though he was sharing his inner feelings and thoughts, l doubt Chris realized how damaging this would be to everyone who heard of the case, loved Shannan and those two girls and sympathised with the family.

Chris then turned to his oldest daughter Bella, who, despite her age, knew that her father was about to kill her (she was four, by the way). “Little quiet Bella had a will to live. Out of all three, Bella is the only one that put up a fight.

“I will hear her soft little voice for the rest of my life, saying, ‘Daddy, NO!!! She knew what I was doing to her. She may not have understood death, but she knew I was killing her.”

Despite him listening to his daughter's plea, Chris still went ahead with his evil plan and killed her. He then dropped her down the oil tank, returned home, and reported all of them missing.

Shockingly all he could say was, “All I could feel was now I was free to be with Nikki. Feelings of my love for her were overcoming me. I felt no remorse”.

I really don’t know what to say about this guy. I have a lot to say, but l can’t put it down in words, and just to think other women are writing him love letters and asking him out makes me sick. Like Shannan’s father said, prison is too good for him. He should just rot in hell. I know redemption is possible, but l don’t know if Chris can be redeemed, especially after this confession. Only his Creator knows.
