Fifteen former female employees of the NFL team in Washington D.C. have alleged sexual misconduct with multiple members of the inner circle of the front office of the team. This misconduct has apparently been going on for years. Women crying at their desks due to comments, being made to wear sexual revealing garments to increase sales, and unwanted sexual propositions are only the tip of the iceberg.

Three of the named people have already been fired or left quickly. The two fired were of the scouting division, Alex Santos and Richard Mann II were let go last Saturday. Larry Micheal, "the voice" of the Washington Redskins on radio for the last 16 years quickly and quietly retired this week. For the last month, the minority owners of the team have been trying to sell their part of the , which equals 40% of ownership, a sure sign of trouble. Now we know why.

Just recently the team announced it had retained lawyer Beth Wilkinson to do a review of the teams organizational policies. Wilkinson is known for her prowess as a trial attorney. She did her undergraduate work at Princeton and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia. Undoubtedly there was much to uncover. Soon after she was hired, the two scouts were fired. Wilkinson is not new to sports, she has represented the NFL , NCAA and the MLB in past cases.

The NFL has commented on the issue today ,stating that these allegations are "serious, disturbing and contrary to the NFL's values."Disciplinary action could be forthcoming . The team has reportedly pledged cooporation with the NFL in any incoming investigation.

Daniel Snyder, owner of the team has some explaining to do. All roads lead to the top, and while he was not named as one of the alleged harassers, this kind of talk could not have been so quiet that it was not noticed for years. Ignoring a problem hoping it will go away is just as guilty. While commissioner Roger Goodell does have the power to force Snyder to sell the team, early indications appear to suggest that that is not likely. However, with minority owners looking to bail, hus hand will definitly be forced in finding back up investors for this troubling team.We will continue to explore what the rest of the story is as this unfolds to reveal more details. Surely there is more to the story, and undoubtedly more potential people involved that are yet unearthed. Both Former General Manager Bruce Allen and Daniel Snyder could not be reached for comment at the time of the article according to the Washington Post. However today, Dan Snyder did make a statement that the" alleged sexual harassment and verbal abuse of female employees has no place in our franchise or Society "

Dr. Ralph Northam The Governor of Virginia ,also weighed in and signified that he is disturbed that misconduct occurred across Virginia where the team has offices and practice facilities. He hopes to see Commissioner Goodell get to the bottom of this swiftly.

This can not be easy for the players and new coach Ron Rivera, who are without a team name, and now are losing more credibility as a team with each passing day, that has nothing to do with the talent on the field. The team has not seen a playoff game in several years or a Super Bowl run since 1992.

This is unlike any identity crisis in sports that has ever been seen before. I cannot recall a team name lost without a immediate replacement, and a scandal right on top of that. Let us hope they keep their chin up amid this crisis, and whatever the outcome will be, continue to uphold the good in D.C.
