Reason First: What Causes Brooklyn Males to Act Up?

After assaulting a young woman, a search is out for evil boys.

Dirty, senseless Brooklyn hoods descended upon a 15-year-old girl in the Crown Heights section of that borough in New York City. After receiving stomps, kicks, and having her cellphone, debit card, and sneakers stolen, the savages left her to deal with her injuries and losses.

It is emotion that drove these brutes to viciously attack this girl. No amount of reason bubbled up in their skulls. Only feelings registered in those moments of wildness. Their primary concern was to inflict as much pain and anguish as they could and make off with items that did not belong to them.

The pack of miscreants may have been home trained. They have been regimented in government schools to at least have a modicum of respect for other people’s property. None of that matters “in the moment.” “In the moment” the individual changes into a group. All of the attributes that would define an upstanding person flee. They feel that they can just be absorbed into a gang of hellions and act up in a given situation. This rabid pack stole more than just the contents of the girl’s purse and her footwear. They attempted to steal her spirit or consciousness. They wanted to make her feel as if she was lower than themselves.

Police are asking witnesses to see if anyone knows about these hoodlums. The cowardice involved is overwhelming. Like wolves salivating for a chunk of flesh in the forest, these boys who had to be either the same age or a bit younger or older had to have at least a shred of dignity. Whatever the case, they abused this girl. If they had any more sense of morals and virtues, then they would turn themselves into police custody. It is a shame that these actions still go on in a city that has largely put an end to such displays of the start of brute force. Over the past two years, crimes have actually increased. While many point fingers at police inaction or overreaction, the truth is that young boys without reason and individualism will continue to make unsuspecting victims their prey as long as it’s permitted.

Individualism would’ve prevented this whole affair. Had the pack been equipped with selfishness, they would’ve weighed their options and looked inward. They would have considered their own self-interest, not only whether they get caught (which they should). It’s deeper than that. They should think about how they must live with themselves knowing that they must remember that they accosted a defenseless girl in the streets.

While people would decry the Big Brother State with the surveillance cameras, security video, and drones consistently becoming a part of current society, the footage of the assault should be able to lead to all of the arrests of the vicious boys. In this world where the Internet accelerates everything, there must be someone who knows something that should snitch on any or all of them.

The act of snitching often gets a bad reputation. But the people not involved in this case would be proud snitches who would fight to curtail and even eliminate such behavior. The snitch should be one who can pinpoint names and faces and be protected by law enforcement. A cash reward also should be a part of the entire scenario to encourage people to be self-interested and claim a certain amount of dollars for their courage. Egoism doesn’t have to be about just the money, though. Just the satisfaction of knowing that justice is going to be served.

It is up to righteous citizens to help cops in finding these “people” who have committed this atrocity. It is the only way forward.
