Reason First: Knell for Alberto “Alpo” Martinez

The one-time drug dealer met death. Did he have to die?

How did the former drug kingpin and murderer of Harlem Alberto “Alpo” Martinez get laid down, soul-brother style in that borough? He rode motorcycles after being released into the witness protection program and was shot dead in a 2017 Dodge Ram. Martinez “lived” his life as a low-life drug dealer and murderer. After being released after a stint in prison in 2015, instead of retreating to Lewiston, Maine, (his witness protection residence) or Portland, Oregon, he decided to haunt his old stomping grounds of Harlem, NYC.

He earned his rounds by being a dumb, old figure who never paid attention to the maxim that “streets gotta eat.” Martinez deserved his demise because he miscalculated the laws of the streets. Once you display your weaknesses to the beasts on the block, you will be devoured.

While it is unclear at this point whether Martinez’s assassin(s) was a grimy New York figure or an out-of-towner from California. Martinez did not understand the will of the one behind the gun. No one cares if Alpo was a snitch. His choices spurred his death.

Once the gunmen ran down on this degenerate, he couldn’t keep up with his own status as a retired drug pusher. The murderer(s) caught him on a good day and blasted him. No tears should fall for this ignoramus who meant nothing and stood for a negative.

The benefit of Martinez’s death is that one less half-wit has been wiped off the face of the world. All that old-school glorification of the drug trade has been passed to more legitimate means. Dealers like Sean “Puffy” Combs, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson ceased their actions in the streets and have made billions of dollars combined in the entertainment business and other ventures.

Martinez was not smart enough to parlay his drug money into legal sectors of the economy. This ultimate loser is forever going to be remembered for lacking the capacity to think. Without the faculty of reason, Martinez lost sight of the game beyond just hustling rocks on the block.

All that carrying on within the context of a reformed drug dealer who must’ve angered somebody somewhere shows that his actions were for naught.

The 55-year-old street figure brought about his own destruction because of the fact that he failed to see how his own person could be “food” for the wolves in the streets. The way of the gun prevailed to silence someone lower than a hood booger. Those shots he received to the chest represented rounds of justice. For someone so stupid as Martinez, he bought the dough and baked his own bread.

Martinez will always be the example of how the streets have no love. He had to have shown his plate at some point or another. The speculation that a Brooklyn figure ran down on Martinez in a set-up possibly involving a female.

Without the protection of the state that had been afforded to him, Martinez showed his lack of intelligence. For a confirmed murderer, he learned the balance of not mystical karma but just the fact that what he did three decades ago caught up to him by his own actions.

When it comes to the power of the end of the firearm, there is definitely a connection between the killing machine and the vulnerability of the human body. In all hopes, this will signal to figures in the “game” to alter their ways and find legitimate avenues to get some revenue.

Martinez’s memory will be that of a low-rent brute who amounted to little to nothing in life. He asked for those bullets because of his precarious lifestyle after being sent to prison. He was probably safer there with the amenities of an American correctional facility.

In all, youths should look at his death as the knell for the lost potential of a businessman.
