It was disappointing when I found out that he had sex with minors. I always thought of him as the guy you could trust your kids with and of course he kind of guy you could have a beer with or go to the gym with.

Then again, with pedophiles you never know what they look like. They could look like Jared, but then again they could look like the stereotypical scum like Richard Huckle (who was later stabbed to death in prison). They could also be as sleazy looking as Matt Gaetz too.

With that being said here are some factors as to why others (including myself) are glad that it is illegal to have sexual relations with minors.

It's just about the sex

I never had any sex with anyone (including men because I don't swing that way) but say it were legal to have sex with a minor. What would you have to talk about with he/she? I have no idea what kids are into these days and odds are I am likely to hate it, just as they would probably hate the things I am into or not truly understand or appreciate such things.

Religious types

You then of course have morons that use matters of "faith" to justify sex with minors (preferably females). Roy Moore is among them(1) but so has the Catholic priesthood (2) and many Southern Baptist Ministers have been accused of doing the same thing (3).

During the time of when the Bible was written, it was justifiable to have sex with female minors, because life expectancy was much shorter in those days. Even in time of when then dictatorship of the Church was established (Late Roman Empire to Renaissance) life was just as short.

Times have changed, people are living longer, so why have sex with female minors?

Can't keep sex off the mind

It's bad enough we got morons like Roy Moore and other right-wing idiots spewing their hateful rhetoric about LGBTQ types, but when it comes to messing with girls (and in some cases boys) they try to justify it or deny it. I mean, what the hell? Isn't lust supposed to be a sin?

They clearly have nothing better to do than think about sex, sex, sex and suppressing the rights of non-heterosexuals.

Not all people who are wrong in the head are pedophiles

Sure, peds are weirdos who aren't right in the head, but not all people who are rotted in the head want to have sex with minors.

You can't tell me that a armed forces veteran who has seen combat is going to have sex with minors. They witnessed the worst life had to offer by going overseas and fighting some conflict, so giving a veteran with PTSD a hard time by kicking them to the curb isn't going to solve anything.

You also have no right to accuse people who were born with mental disabilities of messing with kids. I was born with Asperger's syndrome and I would be furious and unforgiving as hell if those of you out there got stupid and tried to pin such a vile crime on me. It's not like I asked to be born with that crap.

In conclusion

You may have the right to keep kids safe from creeps that want to "touch" them. But you do not have the right to point fingers and make random accusations.

There are more than enough of these creeps in this day and age like the late Jeffrey Epstein, Matt Gaetz and of course the former scumbag-in-chief Donald Trump, but that does not mean the average John/Jane Doe types like myself want to fondle kids.

If anything, I am glad that it is against the law to have sex with minors.

Some of us do want to kill the boredom and do new, exciting things, but that doesn't mean we want to mess with kids. Because I know it's against the law, but that doesn't mean I want to have sex with minors. The law concerning sex crimes should only affect those who want to commit those crimes.

The real question I have towards the law is this:

Why is it that you walk softly on the issue of adults messing with children when they are privileged white folk, but when they are of the working class or just happen to be black, you conduct a witch hunt rather than a proper investigation?
