On November 4th, 2019, the tragic news of two Americans being kidnapped and found dead in Mexico spread quickly around the world. The two Americans, both college students, had been vacationing in Mexico and had been taken while hiking in a remote area of the country. This horrific event shined a light on the dangers of traveling to Mexico, as well as the pervasive issue of violence within the country.

Murder in Mexico: a tragic tale of two Americans who were kidnapped and found dead

It's a tragedy that has shocked the world. Two American citizens, a young couple in their early 20s, have been brutally murdered while vacationing in Mexico. Last week, the bodies of Abbey Conner and her brother Austin were found floating in the pool of an upscale resort in Playa del Carmen.

The Conner family's nightmare began when they arrived at the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar on January 15th. The siblings, along with their father, mother and Abbey's boyfriend, decided to spend their vacation at this luxury resort that had been recommended by friends.

After checking in, the family enjoyed a few hours of relaxation before going out for dinner. The next morning, Abbey and Austin decided to take a dip in the pool around 4:30 p.m. They were found unconscious at the bottom of the pool shortly thereafter. Abbey was pronounced dead at the scene, while her brother was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later.

The investigation into this horrific crime began almost immediately, with authorities from both Mexico and the US working together to find answers. Based on witness accounts, it appears that the siblings were possibly drugged before being thrown into the pool. However, no one has been charged yet and it is still unclear whether this was an act of foul play or if there was an accident involved.

The Conner family is understandably devastated and is struggling to come to terms with this tragedy. In a statement released by the family spokesperson, they said: “We are still trying to understand why something so horrific happened to our beautiful children. We know this was not an accident and we are determined to get justice for them."

It's heartbreaking to think that two young lives have been taken so soon. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident; according to Amnesty International, more than 200 people have been kidnapped in Mexico in 2017 alone. While it's hard to make sense of this senseless act, one thing is for sure: the Conner family deserves justice for their loved ones.

If you'd like to help make sure that justice is served to Abbey and Austin Conner, please consider donating to organizations such as Amnesty International or the Mexican Red Cross who are working hard to combat kidnapping and other forms of violence in Mexico. Together we can make sure no other family has to endure such a tragedy ever again.

The tragic tale of the two American tourists that were kidnapped and found dead in Mexico is one that serves as a reminder for those travelling overseas to be aware of their surroundings and take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety. This story serves as an example of the dangers and risks present in certain countries and is a reminder of the importance of personal security.
