CHAPTER THREE

Jason dragged the man along the field away from the crash site. He had been through a lot more and compared to all that, the flight crash looked like a piece of cake.

On the way out of the flight, he saw his main assailant laying sprawled outside the cockpit. Jason knew the only way he could get some information was through this man so he had dragged him along.

After an hour or so of fatigue, thirst and hunger, they hit the streets and to his relief it was empty. His watch told him that it was three in the morning which explained the deserted streets. Across the road lay an old garage with dilapidated roofs from where he got directions to a nearby motel.

Over at the motel, he explained that his friend was “drunk” and they needed a room for a night. The motel owner gladly gave them one. Exhausted Jason collapsed onto the chair and dropped his so-called ‘friend’ on the bed. Later after quenching his thirst and hunger he sat down and texted John: “Got here! Was attacked, plane crashed. Will call soon.”

Unfortunately, his phone displayed only “no signal”. He tied up the man, who looked very pale probably from hunger, to a chair using some towels and curtains and splashed water on his face. He regained his consciousness and drowsily looked up. Jason gave him something to eat and drink and after he regained his color, Jason placed his gun on a tea table in front of the man and sat down opposite to him.

The man spoke, “Why did you save me?”

Jason replied,” I needed information”.

“What do you want know?”

“Oh! Nothing much, just who are you? Who sent you? And why did they want to kill me?”

The man smiled slyly, “I am Charles Gideon and people call me Charlie. I was send by Mr. Revendil. I believe you know him.” His smile grew wider.

Alfred Revendil was the leader of the Exousia. Herfiterr had a couple of encounters with him but he had somehow slipped between his fingers. Jason, on the other hand, had only seen pictures of him but had dealt with plenty of his men.

Gideon continued, “As of why that I am not told. Perhaps you might know.”

Jason pondered on it for a while. The way he saw it there were only 2 possibilities, either his mission had been leaked and Charlie was send to stop him or this was some sort of payback for his previous mission where he had infiltrated their base in China. Either way there was only way to find out.

“What do you know about Jane Revees?”

“Never heard that name before.”

Jason leaned forward and placed his hand on his gun.

“I repeat WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT JANE REVEES?” he said slowly.

“I swear I haven’t heard that name before”.

Apparently satisfied that he wasn’t lying Jason knocked him out cold again.
