CHAPTER TWO

He took his seat at first class, evidently relieved that he had passed through immigration without incident. Even though he had done the same thing a million times, he always had that anxiety before heading on a mission. He couldn’t stop himself from glancing at the photograph every now and then as if it would disappear. The plane had taken off and he made himself comfortable. He glanced around and found the plane strangely empty. He tried calling an attendant but nobody came to his aid. Now Jason was sure something was wrong. From all these years, he had learned to always trust his instincts. He stood up reaching for his gun from his coat pocket and felt relieved when his hands wrapped around its cold metal surface.

He walked towards the Bay Area where he has encountered by a grinning man with black coat just like his. His smile had something sinister about it and Jason knew immediately that he was trouble.

The man said, “Hello Mr. Cleeves!”

“Who are you? Where are the passengers?”

“As of who I am that’s none of your business, I am just told to kill you. And the passengers, well, let’s say my clients had them all move away.”

Jason saw the man’s hands tense in his pocket, he also knew from the man’s darting eyes he wasn’t alone.

“Well, ‘Mr. what’s-your-name’ I will count till five and in that time you and your boys can lock themselves in that washroom over there.” He pointed towards the backside of the plane. “Otherwise I am warning you, you will greatly regret it.”

All of them snickered but Jason could feel the doubt in their voice and this was all the persuasion he needed.

He lunged at the man in front of him and knocked him out cold with the butt of his gun. The rest of his men, three others, were frozen in shock and he took advantage of the situation and shot one on the leg. This snapped the other two from their daze and reached for their guns but he was quick and shot one on the shoulder before ducking for cover from the last man’s shots.

Jason knew that his opponent was randomly firing and from his shots, Jason understood his opponent’s position and took a carefully calibrated shot, which ended up in the man’s chest. He checked all the men and found that they were breathing but all were unconscious. He went to the cockpit and found that the pilots were knocked out which explained the feeling of rapid descend on the plane. He checked the controls and radar and found that they were rapidly descending on to Zurich. As a basic pilot, it was part of his training, he was able to stir it towards a clear patch of land. He stomach knotted as the plane raised towards the land and ...........crashed!
