I don't know about you, but Joe's black cap antics had me hooked for both seasons of 'You'. He epitomised the most compelling of psychopaths - one that's charming, disarming, and deceptively handsome.

The first-person narrative, uttered in tones so dulcet that they couldn't help but draw you in, helped us viewers delve deep into Joe's world, and so enveloped in it did we become, that we were hooked.

Well, something needed to come along and satiate my attractive serial killer cravings, and 'Behind Her Eyes' is just the ticket. If you enjoyed seeing twisted plots unfold from Joe's perspective, then it's time to flip the script and get a female's (or two) bird's eye view of mayhem and misfortune.

Without spoiling the whole show for you, since it is, after all, only 6 episodes, a secretary, Louise, becomes embroiled in a twisted threesome with the psychiatrist she works for, and his wife, Adele. Adele is everything Joe was; gorgeous, with a velvet voice, and a charm that easily wins you over. Although she may not be a serial killer (spoiler, sorry), her mind games, and those of her husband, may prove to be all the more sinister.

What is even more compelling about 'Behind Her Eyes' is the double perspective it provides us with. Not only do we see Adele's trajectory through her own eyes, but Louise's too, and how they become inextricably linked through the husband, David's, deceit, deviance, and downright dirty-dog actions.

These two narratives, mixed with David's actions, leave the viewer tangled too, as you desperately try and figure out just who is really the bad guy, or girl, in this scenario. Whereas 'You' left us in no doubt as to the culprit, and instead delved deep into his psyche, 'Behind Her Eyes' keeps us guessing, and leaves us in David's psychiatrist chair whilst he's off doing bad deeds. It becomes our role, as viewers, to consider each character's actions, motivations, and morals, tangling you further and further into their web of deceit.

This sofa psychiatrist work is what leads me to think that anyone who loved 'You' will be similarly enamoured with 'Behind Her Eyes'. Contemplating the mental cogs that turn behind these twisted minds is intriguing, and what draws many of us in to murder documentaries and serial killer series.

However compelling these documentaries are, though, sometimes they can be a little too 'real' for us, as we huddle under our blankets in the dark. This is where programmes such as 'Behind Her Eyes' come in. They fulfil our longing for sinister scenes, whilst infusing the storyline with lust, laughs, and just the right amount of escape from the real world. For an hour, we are cocooned in an alternate world, becoming voyeurs to the characters' worries, rather than active participants in our own.

Not to be ignored, of course, are the actors who inhabit these roles. Both Tom Bateman and Eve Hewson embody the menacing charm of someone who seems just a bit 'off', whilst being effervescent enough to draw you in. Simona Brown is vibrant and vivacious, making being infused in her narrative a sensual pleasure, despite the situations in which she finds herself. I always find it's very easy to tell when a cast's chemistry is just 'there', and sparking through the screen, and this is definitely the case with these stellar actors.

So, there's nothing left now but for you to take the plunge into these women's world, and let the twists and turns of their lives enthral you, mystify you, and compel you to keep watching. It's one of those shows whose absence you note keenly when it's finished, so I just hope there'll be some more twisted protagonists to fill the patient's chair to my psychiatrist's sofa very soon.
