Jack Carter was a loyal agent of the CIA, until he discovered a dark secret that could expose the corruption and betrayal within the agency. He decided to leak the information to a journalist, but he was betrayed by his partner and friend, Alex Jones, who tipped off the CIA about his plan. Jack was captured and tortured by his former colleagues, who wanted to know the identity of the journalist and the location of the secret files. Jack refused to talk, but he knew he had little time left before they would kill him.

Meanwhile, Anna Smith was a reporter for the New York Times, who had received an anonymous tip from Jack about a major scandal involving the CIA and a rogue faction of the Russian intelligence. She had agreed to meet Jack at a safe house in Washington D.C., but he never showed up. She tried to contact him, but his phone was switched off. She sensed something was wrong, and decided to investigate on her own. She managed to hack into Jack's email account and found a cryptic message with an attachment. The message said: "If you're reading this, it means I'm dead or captured. The attachment contains the proof of everything I told you. You need to expose the truth before it's too late. Trust no one. They're watching you."

Anna opened the attachment and was shocked by what she saw. It was a video file that showed a secret meeting between the CIA director and a Russian general, who were plotting to assassinate the president of the United States and start a nuclear war. The video also revealed that Alex Jones was working for them as a double agent, and that he had killed several other CIA agents who had tried to stop them. Anna realized that she had stumbled upon the biggest story of her career, but also the most dangerous one. She knew she had to get out of there fast, before they could trace her.

She packed her laptop and some clothes in a backpack and ran out of her apartment. She hailed a taxi and told the driver to take her to the airport. She hoped to catch a flight to London, where she had a friend who worked for the BBC. She thought she could trust him and ask for his help in broadcasting the video to the world. She checked her phone and saw that she had several missed calls from an unknown number. She ignored them and turned off her phone.

She arrived at the airport and bought a ticket for the next flight to London. She went through security and waited at the gate. She looked around nervously, hoping that no one would recognize her or follow her. She saw a man in a suit sitting across from her, reading a newspaper. He looked familiar, but she couldn't place him. She shrugged it off and tried to calm herself down.

She boarded the plane and found her seat. She put her backpack in the overhead compartment and sat down. She fastened her seat belt and closed her eyes. She hoped that everything would be okay once she reached London.

She felt someone tap her shoulder. She opened her eyes and saw the man in the suit sitting next to her. He smiled at her and said: "Hello, Anna. I'm sorry to bother you, but I have something very important to tell you."

Anna felt a surge of fear as she recognized him. He was Alex Jones, Jack's partner and traitor.

He leaned closer to her ear and whispered: "You see, I've been following you since you left your apartment. I know what you have on your laptop, and I can't let you expose it to anyone. You see, I'm not really working for the CIA or the Russians. I'm working for someone else, someone much more powerful and dangerous than you can imagine."

He pulled out a gun from his jacket and pointed it at her chest.

He said: "I'm sorry, Anna, but you're going to die today."

He pulled the trigger.
