Crypto Murders: Marijuana Case
Kim’s awareness heightens.
The potent marijuana caused Kim to consider new avenues. She thought about the ties between money and social media. She drifted a bit with the vapor. She kept going with the plan nonetheless. She sprang from the couch a bit woozy and focused at the same time.
She went to her tablet and kept going with the thread. As it unraveled before her eyes, she started to pinpoint things she never considered before. Different than before, she took in the data and lived through the Web.
As long as she took her time and allowed the drug to surge through her body, the power of the substance encouraged her to run through dating sites and kept it going.
She noticed the fresh batch of photos of the YUPYW. Once she got back to her state of clarity, she immediately missed the high that she just experienced. In her efforts to keep going with the case, she felt ambivalent. She was torn between knowing the phantasms of the drug and the sober clarity of her normal mindstate.
Dots connected when she looked at the various deals that went down in the DMs that some of the women had screenshot. They often showed scrawled red lines around the dollar amounts with names blocked out. She needed those names. The desire to have them prolonged well beyond her regular ideals.
By tapping her fingers on the tablet, she continued to investigate. No detective, no special agent, she assumed that she could be more effective at her position as a law school professor. One that could read volumes of works and still come out as the black beauty queen. A beautiful mind didn’t hurt either. She kept her thoughts in line with the lingering effects of the marijuana.
That sense of being torn arose all over again. She wanted to puff some more for her creativity but then realized she expected something more sobering and clear.
She picked up her cellphone.
“Darby.”
“Hey, It’s somewhere in Hockessin. I know it because I could see the various threads….”
“Whoa, whoa. You’re wurring your slords, Kim. What’s up?”
“The connection. I made the dating sites with the Skipson account. I can show it to you right now.” She took a screenshot and sent it to him.
“Who is this Skipson?”
“He’s the one we’ve been trying to track. In Hockessin, there’s this mansion in a gated community. We’re going to need a warrant to search the premises. But I think these girls are being lured there and possibly assaulted or have even been killed.”
“It’s possible. We have every right to continue with the investigation at the same pace we were going. With these new developments, we should have enough evidence to knock this bastard.”
Kim started laughing uncontrollably.
“Are you high again?”
She sniffled. “It’s strictly for work. All it does is relax me and give me the power to better and enjoy life. Especially while I’m working.”
“You don’t have a badge, so I guess it’s alright. You’re in the company of your own stove and couch and plants. You’re too wise to do anything reckless.”
“Roger that,” she snorted and giggled. “If it wasn’t for this stuff, I wouldn’t have made those connections. Hell, it’s been two decades since I used this stuff. It’s highly recommended, especially this strand. It’s so potent, it lifts the soul. It is true that the oil in this vaporizer may not be as strong as other methods, but it still is a wallop.”
Darby grinned and shook his head. “I thank you for everything we have,” he said.
