Donna Dima Chao was a beautifully vibrant young lady with dreams of becoming a top model. She lived in the usually peaceful township of East Windsor, New Jersey with her family who loved her dearly. She had a close bond with her stepfather and sister, and she worked as a legal secretary. Like most young girls her age at the time, she enjoyed cooking and sewing. No one could have imagined that her life would soon take a devastating turn on a seemingly normal Saturday night in 1984.

On that fateful night, Donna's sister Julie spent time with her in the basement, watching movies together, laughing and talking as sisters are often want to do well into the early hours. It was not until the next day that Donna's absence raised alarms, and her mother Betty decided to investigate. Upon entering Donna's basement apartment, Betty was met with signs of struggle and bloodstained clothes.
