Giving up so easily
During a meeting recently, due to some differences in opinion and perception, an influential acquaintance decided to quit his position of responsibility because he couldn’t get along with others and couldn’t seem to get his point across. Despite multiple trials, the crowd just couldn’t understand his perception of things and even though they didn’t intend to fire him, he decided to resign to avoid unnecessary conflicts with everybody else. This happened to the surprise of everybody, especially considering the fact that he was so influential and his opinion was never underestimated.

I fell in love with a Felon
In a world full of judgement this is a story I never wanted to share directly in detail. Over the last two years since I began speaking with him I've posted about my feelings in a round about way, not giving to many details of our story. Through my writing on here it has brought me a lot of healing and a way to process the last two years of my life. I believe as a story teller, it's always good to share the good and the bad, but also the most vulnerable parts of your life. Not only does it help me heal, but I hope that my story could be comforting for someone else that might have went through or is currently going through a similar situation.

Setting yourself up for failure
When you walk into any classroom setting, you notice people sitting at the front of the hall and people sitting at the back of the hall. Was their choice of sitting position random, or did they deliberately choose where they wanted to sit in the hall? From observation, you realize that it doesn’t matter where the entrance into a hall is, people systematically choose where they want to be seated and how far they want to be from the person giving the lesson. It's fair to say that your sitting position can influence your success rate.

To an almost friend
Dear almost- friend, Years have passed, and I still remain the same in many ways. I’m still that young, wild, and idealistic teen. Obsessed with finding the beauty within the mundane and wanting my writing to have a beautifully poetic beginning and end. Life isn’t like that at all, though. There isn’t poetry in the hurt, surprise, or anger. But my crux has always been to dress up the things that happen to me. Weave words to make things seem far better than they were or, if I can’t dress it up, to make it poetically sad. It’s the heart of being creative and an aspiring writer who may not become one. Yet I still try, and so I write.
