My Love

partnership, leadership with responsibility, and daily support

By Press Release Published 5 months ago • 6 min read

My Love,

I am writing this because I care deeply about where we are and where we are going. This is not coming from anger, resentment, or a desire to control you. It is coming from a place of honesty, responsibility, and conviction. I want us to be strong together, not simply together out of habit or emotion. I want what we build to last, to be peaceful, and to be aligned with God’s design, not just our desires.

Right now, I feel like I am carrying more than I can hold by myself. I have a full plate—my nonprofit work, my writing, my long‑term goals, and the responsibility I feel to create something meaningful that will outlive momentary comfort. Some days it feels like everything is stacked on top of me at once, like food spilling over a plate that’s already full, while I’m trying to stay afloat and keep my head above water. I’m not saying this to complain. I’m saying it because leadership does not mean pretending you are unaffected by pressure. Leadership means being honest about the weight you carry and asking for support when it is needed.

The Bible is clear that order matters. It says, “The head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God” (1 Corinthians 11:3). That scripture is not about worth or superiority. It is about responsibility and accountability. I answer to God for the direction of my life and the household I build. I don’t take that lightly. I don’t see leadership as power over you; I see it as responsibility before God. I am not trying to dominate you. I am trying to lead deliberately, under God, with purpose.

At the same time, the same Bible that speaks about order also makes it clear that no one is meant to carry purpose alone. “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” (Ecclesiastes 4:9). I don’t want to live a life where we are technically together but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually pulling in different directions. I don’t want a relationship where I have to fight the world and then come home to more resistance, doubt, or division. Home should be a place of refuge, peace, and reinforcement—not another arena where I have to defend the vision God placed in me.

I need unity. I need to know that you respect the direction I am walking in, even when the results are not immediate. I need to feel that you believe in what I am building, not only when it benefits you directly, but because you understand the long‑term purpose behind it. The Bible says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Agreement does not mean we think the same about everything, but it does mean we are walking toward the same destination.

A wife’s support carries real power. Scripture describes it beautifully: “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her… She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:11–12). That kind of trust is not built on words alone; it is built on daily actions, loyalty, respect, and consistency. When a man knows his partner truly has his back, he can stand taller under pressure. When he doesn’t, even small burdens become heavier than they should be.

I am committed to loving you the right way. The Bible calls me to love sacrificially, the same way Christ loved the church: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” (Ephesians 5:25). That love is not passive. It means protection, provision, patience, and responsibility. It means I am willing to lay down comfort for something greater. But love also requires alignment. Love cannot flourish where there is constant opposition, divided priorities, or lack of respect.

What I am asking for is partnership rooted in purpose. Daily support does not mean agreement with every single decision or silence when something concerns you. It means respect in how concerns are communicated. It means encouraging me when progress feels slow instead of planting doubt. It means recognizing when I am overwhelmed and stepping in rather than stepping back. It means being mindful of my focus and not pulling me away from what I am building when I need to be consistent and disciplined.

Support is shown in the small, everyday moments. It is shown when you speak to me in a way that builds rather than tears down. It is shown when you protect peace in our home instead of fueling tension. It is shown when you believe in my vision even before it has fully taken shape, and when you remind me of why I started when I’m tired or discouraged. The Bible says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). That means when one of us is carrying more weight, the other does not add to it.

There are also boundaries that matter if we are going to build something healthy and protected. Scripture says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife” (Genesis 2:24). Cleaving means prioritizing the bond, guarding it, and not allowing outside influences to weaken it. Unity requires loyalty, emotional responsibility, and an understanding that what affects one of us affects both of us.

I want us to be on the same page about vision. I am not building just for myself. I am building for a future that has meaning, stability, and legacy. “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Vision requires sacrifice, patience, and faith, especially before results are visible. I need someone who understands that seasons of building often look messy before they look successful, and who is willing to stand in that season with me instead of questioning it at every step.

I am not asking you to lose yourself or your voice. I am asking you to walk with me intentionally. I am asking for a relationship where we strengthen each other instead of draining each other, where we confront challenges as a team instead of as opponents. I believe that true protection is not about control, fear, or reaction. True protection is creating a home where peace is normal, where children can grow without anxiety, where trust is steady, and where the future is shaped deliberately rather than left to chance.

There is a hard truth I need to say honestly and respectfully. Not everyone is meant to walk the same road. The Bible says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together” (2 Corinthians 6:14). That does not mean one person is better than the other; it means direction matters. I don’t need someone who merely tolerates my calling or treats it as a hobby. I need someone who understands that this work matters to me, that it is part of who I am, and that supporting it is part of building a life together.

I know that without God at the center, none of this works. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it” (Psalm 127:1). I want God to be the foundation of what we build, not just a reference we use when it’s convenient. That foundation requires humility from both of us, accountability from me, and willingness from you to walk in alignment rather than resistance.

I am offering leadership with responsibility, love with sacrifice, and direction with intention. I am asking for partnership, loyalty, respect, and daily support in return. I am not perfect, and I am still growing, but I am serious about the life I am trying to build. I want to know that the woman walking beside me is serious too.

This letter is not written to pressure you. It is written to be clear. Clarity is love. I care about you, and I care about the future. I want us to move forward with honesty, agreement, and purpose, not confusion or quiet resentment.

This is my heart, spoken plainly and sincerely.

With intention and truth,

Leavie scott

Before I end this letter, I want to place everything I’ve said before God, because without Him none of this works.

Father God,

I thank You for the life You have given us, for bringing two paths together, and for the opportunity to build something meaningful under Your guidance. I acknowledge that unless You lead, my efforts are empty. Your Word says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverb...
