Love and Faith

On the day of her marriage, no woman is worthy to be a wife if she is not lost absolutely and entirely in an atmosphere of love and perfect trust. These two components are the pillars on which a happy and successful marriage is built. Without them, a marriage cannot thrive, let alone survive.

Love is the foundation upon which every successful marriage must be built. When a woman enters into a marriage, she should do so with the utmost love and devotion to her husband. The sacredness of the relationship between a husband and wife is the only thing that should possess her soul. It is the supreme sacredness of this relationship that elevates it above all other relationships and makes it the most important one of her life.

However, love is not enough on its own. Trust is equally important. In fact, trust is one of the six requisites in every happy marriage, and it is second only to faith. Nothing complements a man more than a woman who believes in him, and nothing pleases a woman more than a man who places his confidence in her. Trust is the foundation upon which every successful marriage must be built.

When a woman marries, she should not be expected to "obey" her husband any more than a man should be expected to obey his wife. Instead, there should be an atmosphere of mutual respect and admiration, with both partners striving to support and uplift one another. A man who loves a woman will want to obey her every wish, but only because he has perfect confidence that her desires will always be beautiful, true, and right. The same is true of a woman; she will want to obey her husband's wishes, but only because she knows that he has her best interests at heart.

The desire to obey should be the one controlling impulse of a happy marriage. There should be no rivalry between partners other than who can love the most. The price of a perfect love is an absolute and complete surrender. Giving a man something for nothing tends to make him dissatisfied with himself, which leads to dissatisfaction with the whole world and with his partner. Therefore, it is essential that both partners surrender themselves completely to one another and give their all to the marriage.

Perfect faith implies perfect love, and perfect love casteth out fear. Fear is the enemy of trust and love, and it is often the fear of imposition and a lurking intent to rule that causes women to haggle over a word. Fear is an absence of love, a limitation, and an incapacity. The only way to overcome fear is through love and trust.

To bargain and stipulate in love is to lose. Love is not a transaction; it is a gift freely given. Love is not about getting something for nothing; it is about giving oneself fully and completely to the other person. When love is given freely, it creates a sense of freedom and liberation in both partners.

Your enemies are the ones you have helped. It is often said that the people who are closest to us are also the ones who hurt us the most. This is because we have invested so much in them and have given them so much of ourselves. When we give ourselves freely to others, we open ourselves up to the possibility of hurt and pain. However, we also open ourselves up to the possibility of great joy and happiness.

A man's quarrel with the world is only a quarrel with himself. It is easy to blame others for our unhappiness, but the truth is that we are often the cause of our own misery. When we are unhappy, we tend to blame others for our problems. Women, in particular, tend to blame their misery on "That Man." However, the truth is that we are responsible for our own happiness. We must learn to take the good with the bad in this thing call love.
