20 Things I Won’t Apologize For That Are Self-explanatory
An inspired spin-off of sorts
She caught my attention AND made me smile, since I’ve shoved every “About Me” prompt hellur-hard off that proverbial cliff.
But this?
Simplistic genius!
What better way to get to know someone than by first understanding them and having the know-how with respect to their personal boundaries?
I remember a time early in my life, when people generally gave respect, as standard as common courtesy.
Like ‘bedrock-ain’t-going-nowhere’ customary.
I miss those times.
Now we’re reduced to lists…kinda sorta.
And for me: A condensed list.
As per the Elizabeth Silleck La Rue format, there will be no:
· Explanations
· Dilutions
· Apologies
· Retractions
Look out for the increased probability of above-concentration ‘rant articles’ in the coming months that will not meet 60% of the qualifying rant criteria, but consist of explanations based on experiences with a lot of unholy adjectives thrown in…
Here goes, in no particular order…
1. The choice to be offline for the majority of my waking hours if I want. And “I want” a LOT.
2. Development at my pace (and not yours.)
3. Refusal to answer my door/phone/etc., when I am not expecting anyone and/or don’t know who it is.
4. Standing up, speaking out, and being friggin’ obstinate about the protection of the environment.
5. Double-timing it away from disrespect. I ain’t order none of that.
6. Being hungry and requiring an effin, legislated lunch break to eat.
7. The bruises left if ever touched without my permission.
8. Exercise of my sovereignty and autonomy.
9. Never choosing the “lesser of two evils.” Are you insane?
10. My guiding principles and morals.
11. Exiting the room if somebody is simply gonna READ off the PowerPoint. Just email it then, and hope I’m online and care that much.
12. Total absorption in a book and tuning out the world for as loooong as I need.
13. Knowing alphabetical order and how to type with all my fingers.
14. Holding people accountable for the remit tasks in their chosen employ.
15. Not pretending to like you if I don’t.
16. Keeping my inner circle small.
17. Not disclosing my sexual orientation, pronouns, marital status, or other private details like they are owed.
18. My subtropical privilege and disdain for cold climates.
19. Saying “No, thank you” and meaning it.
20. Being blessed with the type of childhood that engendered a lifelong lens to see the potential of humanity to evolve beyond greed, hate, fear, and disillusionment. I expect more. Won’t stop.

Well, there you have it. My list in all of its cartharsis-ness…carthartic-ness? Purged-ness? Heck, it just felt gosh darn good doing it!
I highly recommend it as an exercise. Whether you choose to share it or not.
But if you do, please let me know so I can give it a look-see!
A real joy and treat to see you here reading waaaay through to the bottom! I’m sending you extra EXTRA ‘Write Vibes’ especially because of that.
Thank you in BIG bunches!
Please continue in awesomeness, and feel free to ‘read away’ on my profile if you’d like, as that would be tremendously helpful.
