eFootball, or formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) has taken the football gaming community by storm. Improved gameplay and graphics has football fans flocking to this game, a massive blow to the once ruler of footballing world, FIFA.

But FIFA is no longer known by that name as the partnership between FIFA and EA is coming to an end, thus renaming the franchise EA SPORTS FC. This looks like another blow to the legendary game that has been around since the 90's.

So, how exactly does eFootball fare over FIFA? Well it's not exactly rocket science when deciding which game is worthy of being played. The game that a gamer enjoys or connects with, be it the graphics, gameplay or the amount of events and challenges it offers is the game that attracts more payers. That being said the one game that offers all mentioned above and more, in recent times is PES or eFootball.

Cubs from top European leagues have given their licenses to eFootball, mainly the Serie A clubs Juventus, Lazio, Atalanta and AS Roma while there are rumors of Napoli and AC Milan following their counterparts footsteps. As the partnership between EA and FIFA has failed to renew for the first time in 30 years, this could potentially affect the acquirement of licenses to it's former vast collection of clubs, players and stadiums. But don't get me wrong EA has still retained the rights to LaLiga, Bundesliga and other top European leagues and are confident to provide the thrill of their older games while they have lost the rights to Liga BBVA MX, the top flight division of Mexican football to eFootball, who has obtained excusive rights to the league.

When looking at the graphics and gameplay aspect of both the games eFootball undoubtedly comes on top. The recent editions of eFootball or PES has shown a greater improvement in it's graphics, mainly the player likeness. Gameplay wise, eFootball is said to have a realistic gameplay than that of an arcade like gameplay of FIFA. The player dynamics and overall movement is better in eFootball than FIFA. Even though it is not a vast difference, it is somewhat noticeable for the hardcore fans of these football game giants. The utilization of unreal engine by Konami to create PES/eFootball is one of the main reasons for their upgrade in graphics and gameplay.

The one thing that FIFA outshined PES/eFootball was the ultimate team and the various online events and challenges. myClub was eFootball's answer to FUT but has failed to capture the thrill of it. It is in doubt if EA Sports will still retain the ultimate team or have a makeover. Losing FUT will be a challenge that EA will struggle to overcome as that is one of the main reasons that they have managed to retain their customers.

Even though FIFA has a greater fan base and has sold more copies than PES or eFootball, it is safe to say that FIFA has found themselves a worthy contender for the title, the best football game in the word. But being the number 1 game for 30 years prove the quality and don't give up mindset of the developers of FIFA.

As an avid gamer of both these games and a person who grew up playing these absolute bangers of a game, I wish that we get to see the most polished and improved games of both EA SPORTS FC and eFootball. Hearing the statements of the developers and management of both these games, they have definite plans for their future and it does seem brighter for both the games. Wishing them all the luck in the world.

- A huge fan.
