Young Guns, echo players of Old
All the kings horses and all the kings men…that’s what it took for the United States Men’s National Team to qualify for the World Cup again. And let’s be clear it was never assured despite what many news outlets and pundits now report or try to portray. Throughout the Qualifying campaign and into the Hex many big name sportscasters doubted the abilities of the current crop of US nationals to qualify for Qatar. And rightfully so. I know I was among that group of non believers.

Should We Boycott Qatar 2022?
I remember being in the streets of Doha the day in 2010 when it was announced that Qatar would be hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022. It seems so long ago now. I was out and about as it was announced over the radio that they had won their bid. It was getting dark. Within minutes of the announcement, the streets were flooded with cars honking and celebrating. Qatari flags sprung up everywhere! People were ecstatic that their nation was going to be hosting one of the biggest sporting events in the world. So much happiness, so much celebration, so much pride.

It was meant to be another great night in the Champions League for Reece James and his Chelsea colleagues. While a dire first half had the fans at Stamford Bridge scratching their heads, Romelu Lukaku made up for it in the second forty-five with a well headed goal in the 69th minute. It was to be the only goal in a game that never really got going, however Thomas Tuchel and his charges would welcome a winning start as they attempted to defend their European crown. Offensively, it was a rather worrying display, while at the back it was another solid performance by the London side.
Michael FergerPublished 8 months ago in CleatsFAN REPRESENTATION IN FOOTBALL/OR THE LIE IT IS
When Brazilian club Santa Cruz lost 4–1 to Gremio in 2012 to get relegated, there was only one fan in the stadium, watching over his club's demise with a dismayed visage. Fast forward to December 2020, when the club qualified for Copa Do Brasil and won the state FGF Cup, their first ever trophy, it was that fan lifting the trophy, as the President of the club.

This information can change depending on the viability of many qualified routes and local situations. The play-offs are made up of the 10 second-placed teams and two lower-tier group winners of the 2020 / 21 UEFA Nations League who have not qualified.
