Lucita sat in class, bored out of her mind. World Geography. She had already taken this class in middle school….and passed. She was supposed to be in Honors World History. But no, someone had messed up her homeschooling paperwork, all because someone misfiled it. All of her credits, everything she had worked so hard for, gone, leaving her to repeat classes she had taken. What a rip.

Eeyore June 19, 2023 Almost all my litter mates are gone now, and I understand what is happening. We are all going to new humans. I don’t know what happens when we go with new humans, but I know that new humans come, they look at us all very closely, they pick us up, handle us in a variety of ways- some nice, some not nice- and either put us back in our area, or say, “I’ll take him!” Or her. Depending on the dog. Everyone keeps putting me back in the area, and I don’t know how I feel about that. I have some confusing feelings about the whole matter.

Blake and Lucas were really going at it. Finally, Lucita caught sight of her and approached them, shoving everyone out of her way.

Why do you share your work and journey with your social network? Nobody cares about what you do in your life. ⏩This! How often do we come across this statement? The argument for instant gratification that we gain while sharing glimpses or content about our journeys being detrimental for us, in the long run, is completely valid. The validation that we crave from external realms often stems from a lower sense of self-esteem.

For once, Luci was happy to be at school. Everything was working out. She had a boyfriend (although it still stunned her how easy that had been), and her two closest friends were speaking again. She felt like she needed to contain herself, but she couldn’t. Nothing could possibly destroy her good mood.

Lucita woke with a start. She hadn’t had that nightmare for months. But, whenever she had it, all that old hatred and resentment flooded. Made her angry and scared. It was the same dream every time, and she woke up scared and angry. All of which was directed at one person. Cyrus. He had treated her poorly in middle school, so poorly that she had become depressed and suicidal. Lucita felt pathetic.
