Your reality, the world around you, and the cosmos are all studied in physics. Physics isn't what you might think of as a burden—a requirement forced on you in school, largely just to be mean. Since the time you open your eyes, you have been studying physics.

Physics is a science that covers everything; it has no boundaries. You can study diverse parts of nature, and you can study various branches of physics as a result. For example, you can study the physics of moving things, forces, electricity, magnetism, what happens when you approach the speed of light, and other topics. You delight in learning about each of these subjects in this book.

As long as mankind have attempted to make sense of the world, physics has existed. The Greek term "physika," which meaning "natural things," is where the word "physics" originates.

What Physics Really Is Even in the midst of your complicated world, there is always a lot to observe. Sunlight is shining, stars are flashing, leaves are swaying, automobiles are driving, and printers on computers are printing. There are people on foot and in bicycles, there are flowing streams, etc. When you pause to consider these behaviors, your inborn curiosity prompts a plethora of inquiries:

How am I to see? Why do I feel hot? What is the composition of the air I breathe? I try to ascend that snow bank, but why do I fall? What's up with those stars? Are they planets, then? Why do they appear to be moving? What kind of dust particle is this? Exist secret realms that I am unable to see? What is lighting? Why does using a blanket keep me warm? What does matter consist of? If I touch that high-tension line, what will happen? (You already know the solution to that question. As you can see, even a basic understanding of physics saves life.

From the most elementary (such as understanding the inertia of a dead car you're trying to push) to the most exotic (such as peering into the very smallest of worlds inside the smallest of particles to try to make sense of the fundamental building blocks of matter), physics is an investigation into the world and how it works. Physics is fundamentally about becoming aware of your surroundings. Observing Moving Objects The most fundamental inquiries you might have about the world have to do with moving objects. Will the boulder that is coming your way slow down? How quickly will you need to move to avoid being hit by it? (Excuse me a second while I pull out my calculator.) One of physics' initial investigations was motion, and it has shown to be very good at providing solutions.

This book's first section deals with moving items, including most moving objects between train carriages and balls. Motion is a basic reality that most people are already very familiar with. As soon as you press the accelerator, the car starts to move.

There is also more to the story. The first step in truly understanding physics is to describe motion and how it operates because physics is all about developing calculations and mental models based on measurements and observations. The majority of individuals are unfamiliar with this procedure, which is where this book comes in. Even while studying motion is important, it is only the beginning. When you glance around, you'll notice that items' motion is always changing. At the stop sign, you notice a motorcycle coming to a stop you observe a leaf falling. stopping as it reaches the floor. read the next volume to know about (Energy).
