When I was younger, I went through different phases or obsessions with the mystical and occult. Lucid dreaming, or at least trying to learn how to lucid dream, was one of those phases. Of course, lucid dreaming isn't really occult or necessarily mystical or religious in nature, although it can be seen as "dream yoga."

The problem is that virtually every time I became lucid, I would wake up very quickly, from several seconds to about a minute, and rarely more than that.

I remember becoming lucid once as a teenager, realizing that I was actually inside a dream, feeling excited, probably even telling my ("oneiric") mother within the dream, inside my dream "simulation"--or was my soul astral projecting (in the astral plane)?--of the same two-bedroom apartment we lived in at the time. As I ran through the hallway, I must have jumped a bit, realizing that I could float a bit in the air, which would be an impossibility in real waking life. When I got to the kitchen, I looked at the clock and saw it fill up with a red substance like blood. I guess I think that that lucid dream image is fitting for these bloody times.

MICRO-KALI YUGA: 1942-1945

World War II witnessed widespread violence, atrocities, and moral dilemmas on a global scale. The war involved the Holocaust, the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and other events that raised profound ethical questions.

The war brought about a decline in many human values, including compassion, empathy, and cooperation, as nations engaged in destructive conflict. The scale of suffering and devastation challenged notions of human progress and moral development.

Crisis of Leadership: The war exposed the shortcomings of political and military leadership in various countries. Leaders faced criticism for their decisions and actions during the conflict, and some of these actions raised ethical concerns.

World War II had a profound impact on the world, leading to significant changes in the political landscape, the founding of international organizations like the United Nations, and efforts to prevent such widespread conflict in the future.

Now that I'm in my 30's, my new obsessions are Hinduism, mantras, mudras, and yoga poses, as well as the eras and phases of human history.
