By the mid-1700s, British policies and taxes sparked growing discontent among American colonists. The Stamp Act, Townshend Acts, and other measures imposed without representation fueled anger and resentment. Protests, boycotts, and events like the Boston Tea Party demonstrated the colonists' determination to resist British control. Leaders such as Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry rallied support for independence, laying the groundwork for revolution.
