New World with Starryai

Once in a while an idea comes to writers that just won't leave us alone. So I keep returning to this story.

I first started it in 2013 and set it aside because I was building up poetry books and two other novels but this sci fi story remains one of my favourites. They are all my favourites. My mind is important as my body and I gave birth to them there, amongst synapses firing, normal brain operations and the magical force of imagination. I jumped ahead and wrote two other stories based on the beginnings of this one. The first fast forwarded to a set of Science Fiction short stories which I am so excited about I can barely stop writing.

I am a solo writer not a group person for writing, I keep my babies close to my heart and mind and don't share until publishing. I give myself deadlines and have three on the go now...all with the same deadline, oh my! This Story Outline is part of the Vocal Writer's Challenge.

Story Outline

The first part of the story is a mural of time beginning with the destruction of the planet as we know it after a series of devastating storms. The emphasis of the story is the rebirth of civilization. The entire planet is gone with the exception of survivors who lived in highlands, upper hill areas or mountains. These people re-populate over time. Of all the countries around the earth only twelve new islands remain on a globe that is now covered in water.

Gone is electronics, electricity and most of mechanics. The new race starts with hand tools. One advancement is saved and this will be integral to re-development - by solar power. Knowledge and ability preserves this tool and over much time it becomes the main utility. A vital quality of rebuilding is intuition.

Each of the twelve new islands develop their own means of survival, their own government, laws, religion, and philosophy. It is almost a decade before any of the people on different lands connect.

Nature is a warp of its own since the essence of the planet is now water. In a magnified composition of balance that seems almost retaliatory, it goes through vast cycles. The next cycle is two decades of sun, then comes a few years of wind. Water remains the new ground however, forever.

In the cycle of sun almost all the survivors retreat to living underground where they develop intricate modes of survival living while they work on solar power. This is more of a necessity so they can see and build in the earth. The period of growth is important as that result saves them into the future. The payoff however is in health as the underground living causes dysfunction.

The winds of the next period come at at them as they arise from their earth chambers. Making monolithic structures to live in becomes the purpose.

Each of the twelve land divides evolve differently. The main two that become most advanced have developed solar power to an art. Here, living becomes high rise. The entire society lives, works, and plays in one tall, huge, structure of a glass building that is preserved from any element. The new philosophy, laws and government are elaborated on in the context of this new structured society.

The end of Part One is when visitors of what is believed to be another planet make a brief secretive appearance. This is noticed by two lovers who are having a forbidden romance.

Part TWO

Part Two continues the lover's observation and a plot develops. Stories begin to run parallel of the other civilizations on earth that have not all been met yet.

Exploring also the themes of new agriculture and new science to move society forward is in this next part. From breeding selection, advanced knowledge of genes, light being the principle source of gaining sustenance, and social evolution, these ideas extend from the theme.

The planet began covered in water and in some kind of odd completeness of nature with the decline of the human race and practically every vegetable and mineral, it also ended covered in water.

"Meagre steps found thresholds. From mountain ranges and hilltops sprung appendages to the light and air. People crawling and reaching out to look upon what they expected to be vast fields of devastation but instead saw water as far as the eye could see. No Arks this time.

...

"They survived on what food was already growing and a new world of fishery. The sun brighter than ever flourished like forgiveness on to fallen fruit. People wore resilience like a shield and ever so slowly rebuilt time.

The time spanning the novel is approximately hundred years. The name Earth changes, as well as some words in language and common terms over time. Humans remain for the most part, the same. Whole philosophies evolve that did not exist before that re-shape how the people live, what they honour and how they grow.

Part THREE

Part Three concludes the stories and shows a new direction for mankind that remains into the future. Friendships and working relations begin with two planets nearby.

This is not an armageddon story but there are stages throughout that could mirror that. How to keep the planet whole, functioning smoothly, without any violence and eradication of most illnesses, is the prevailing goals of mankind in the re-shaping of the future.

This is not a story of utopia either, it's a story of work, love, and hope. With a few groovy aliens introducing themselves. With elements of literary fiction and science fiction this is a novel packed with narration blended with components of story progress.

I have two other Sci Fi books in the works, plus a Lit Fic Novel, and two other novels, short story collection and poetry never ends.

Scifi is not one of my favourite genres, but your story sounds like it has some really interesting aspects. Good luck with your development ❤️
