Friedrich August von Hayek ( 1889-1992) Austrian-British economist and political philosopher who got a Nobel prize in the field of economy in 1974 together with G.Myrdal.

Friedrich was a professor at the London School of Economics in 1931. In 1951 He was a professor at the University of Chicago. In the year 1960, He was giving lectures at the University of Freiburg.

He had a huge impact on the debates from economics and philosophy that brought back to life the basic issues of liberalism giving it a new power and a new meaning to its arguments in the past and until the times of the now. His words still are inspirations to so many thinkers, philosophers and economists.

The Road to Serfdom is one of the most famous ones of His bringing Him international recognition. Published in the year 1944 He wrote that every kind of socialism leads to no freedom and is the cause of totalitarianism.

The Road to Serfdom together with The Year 1984 by George Orwell is a warning before the tyranny of civilization. While Orwell only describes it Hayek definitely gives details about the potential danger and how to avoid it.

I read this book in Polish, I always have an issue with the Polish translations of books so it probably sounds much different to read it in any other language.

Still, I was able to go through it even being driven into it quite deeply.

I am the last person to go for politics but sometimes the situation leads us to gain knowledge to find and understand our own life circumstances and the way things carry themselves in politics which is not the order I live personally by and through but it does roughly affects human life and the way things occur in our daily being in the society.

The book also talks about obvious things that You would rather recall from all the history that You went through before maybe in less political language for some and It will appear in Your mind while reading the facts presented by Hayek.

I can not express why I chose this book and bought it but I did and I came back to it again.

Every time I approach it, it gives me a different picture and the meaning from the present things and issues and possible solutions to it if I choose this way

There is something about this book that takes me back to the times when my great-grandmother was alive and I wish She could read this book together with me and tell me all Her experiences from that period of time in Her own way.

This book can be not only a solution to political situations but also a psychological issue and very quickly one will find answers within the ways and even choices that we are facing in our real-life experiences between one another of different mentality and life choices not only political ones.

I think whether You like it or not there is a reason to dive into it as long as You won't get bored as it may happen in the middle while the language is not the one of our time so You might be triggered to jump out but just stay in there and from one phase You will go to another discovering new ways between the lines of it and feel minds of His

I definitely recommend it without a reason and for all the actual reasons.

It may ring something out of You and walk You through issues that You haven't accepted to be in yet finding yourself making a new way out of it all whether is about politics or the life itself !

According to Wikipedia:

The Road to Serfdom was to be the popular edition of the second volume of Hayek's treatise entitled "The Abuse and Decline of Reason",

The title was inspired by the French classical liberal thinker Alexis de Tocqueville's writings on the ''road to servitude''. The book is widely popular among the ones advocating individualism and classical liberalism.

"Hayek believed that after World War II, "wisdom in the management of our economic affairs will be even more important than before and that the fate of our civilization will ultimately depend on how we solve the economic problems we shall then face"

His writings still provoke and invite new debates in trying to solve conflicts in the modern economy all over the world

This book at first would never seem like the one I will be writing about here maybe it is just the political times of the now that led me to it again or the psychological layers that need to find their roots and ways to connect in some other ways.

Maybe it's my new approach in looking for answers that I have not looked for yet to understand the world I usually never have that much connection with but as the years go by I need to discover everything that I happen to be part of and for in

Yet the answers I get are the ones about completely different minds of mine and issues I was struggling with for the same reason I invite You to check in to The Road to Serfdom and experience whatever You think and feel.
