Elon Musk was asked which book changed his life...

"I encourage people to read a lot. Basically try to ingest as much information as you can. Try to develop good general knowledge," Elon Musk says. The only way we can build knowledge is through reading books. You should as much as you can whether you agree with the concept or not, you become more educated. Remember Aristotle's nuggets of wisdom: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

1. Elon Musk

During an interview Elon Musk says if he hadn't read that book he likely wouldn't have been a billionaire. He goes on to says the book completely changed how he views money and how he uses money. He recommends all entrepreneurs looking to start a business to buy it.

He's talking about a book written by a former business partner Peter Thiel (they merged PayPal and X to form the PayPal we know today) - Zero to One: Notes on startups or How to build the future.

2. Bill Gates

Bill Gates' blog page terms this book as 'The Business Book I've ever read'. This is a book recommended to him by Warren Buffet when met back in 1991. The book he's talking about is Business Adventures by John Brooks.

3. Warren Buffett

If you are reading this I suppose you already know who Warren Buffett is. An American business magnate with a net worth of 118.4 billion USD according to Forbes. He made his fortunes by building a very impressive portfolio valued at 348.19 billion USD. I then thought it appropriate to include his recommendation on investment books.

He recommends The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham first published in 1949. He recommends the book because it provides what he calls a simple approach to investing.

One constant trait is that they read. Bill Gates reads 50 books a year. Whether it's recommended by a billionaire or going for less than a dollar in local store read it. Think through it and write down an action plan, then GET TO WORK!
