I've learned from my travels that nothing in life is worthwhile unless you're ready to take chances. Nelson Mandela once said, "There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that's less than the one you're capable of living." When you think back on your personal experiences—whether they were figuring out your major, getting through school, applying to colleges, or figuring out your life's direction—you've heard advice telling you to have a safety net or something to fall back on. But, I never found resonance with that idea. When falling forward allows viewing what's ahead, why go back? You'll never reach your greatest potential if you lack the courage to go outside the box and make those audacious decisions. Follow your passion and take those steps.

Reggie Jackson, a baseball legend, struck out 2,600 times in his career, yet it's his home runs that endure in memory. Thomas Edison's journey to invent the light bulb involved a thousand failed experiments. Each setback was a stepping stone toward eventual success. Embrace failure as an inevitable part of life's journey. In the world of acting, failure is commonplace. I, too, faced rejections early in my career, but I persevered, auditioning until I landed the role that changed my trajectory.

Every graduate here possesses the requisite skills and talents to thrive, but it's the willingness to confront failure head-on that sets you apart. Remember, failure isn't a sign of defeat; it's a testament to your efforts. Imagine facing the ghosts of your unfulfilled potentials on your deathbed - the untapped ideas, the dormant talents. How many would surround you, lamenting the opportunities lost?

The world is replete with challenges, from poverty in Africa to myriad issues across continents. We need your contributions, your dedication, your innovation. It's not about how much you have but what you do with what you have. Your talents, your resources, your compassion - channel them toward meaningful endeavours.

Failure often serves as the compass guiding you toward your true path. My academic journey, aimless, led me through various disciplines until I discovered my calling. It was a chance encounter with an elder who prophesied my future, a future where I'd speak to millions. And so, I did, traversing the globe and sharing my message with audiences worldwide.

Taking risks isn't about career pursuits; it's about embracing uncertainty, welcoming new experiences, and staying open to growth. Your life's trajectory will be anything but linear. Embrace the detours, for they often lead to unexpected destinations. Never lose faith, never hold back - give it your all, and when you stumble, remember to fall forward.
