What is Double Cleansing and why is it so important?

It's a 'double clean'

More and more people are talking about 'Double Cleansing' or as they say in Portuguese, 'dupla limpeza'. What does this mean? Well, it's simple, as the name implies, it means to clean the skin twice through two different cleaning steps. We are referring to a Korean method that came out of K-Beauty and has been gaining more and more followers in the West.

As every self-respecting woman knows, our beauty routines, or rather our beauty rituals, are already an intrinsic part of our being and our everyday life. A way of taking care of ourselves and pampering ourselves is essential, all in a time that is ours alone and only for us.

If we spend a lot of time treating and caring for our body and hair, the truth is that the face is perhaps the area to which we devote most time and attention. And like everything else, it starts with a good cleanse. And for those people who want truly clean and healthy skin, this method is what you need to get it.

This method we are talking about is very popular among Asian women, and if we think about it for a moment, we have nobody better to talk about skincare than them. And if this method originated in Korea as has already been said here, it has already expanded into the Western world.

In fact, this technique was already used by the geishas and has become known to integrate the famous Korean ten-step skin care regime.

But for anyone asking, what is it all about? The answer is quite simple: wash your face with two cleansers. But to get the effect you want, they must be of very different types: first one in oil and the other water-based.

For those who are wondering why this double cleansing is so, know that the main purpose of this double cleansing is not only to thoroughly cleanse the skin, but also to illuminate it and allow the previous products, with their active ingredients, to penetrate the skin more effectively.

In other words, with the oil-based cleanser, the idea is to remove not only the impurities left by make-up, sunscreen, but also the sebum and pollution itself. Then the aqueous cleanser should act on the pores in depth.

And believe it or not, according to the experts, these are the two great benefits when you adopt a facial cleansing process based on two distinct phases. The skin should be seen as a canvas, where you can only work after it has been cleaned properly.

There will be many people (men and women) who, when they are reading this, must be asking themselves: But is this for me? Well, the truth is, although this technique is seen more as a complement than a vital need, there are certain types of fur that end up benefiting much more than others.

A good example of that kind of skin is oily skin. In this case, two softer formulas to combat the excess oil produced by the skin will be much more effective than a single stronger formula, but which ends up causing dryness in it.

Another good example, is for those who have acne, because you can benefit a lot from this method with two light formulas, in order to clean bacteria from the skin and avoid skin rashes.

And of course, we can't help but talk about those who are adept at make-ups with greater coverage, this may be the ideal technique to clean the skin and leave the skin much healthier.

So, as you can see, whatever your skin type, there is nothing like a good, complete cleansing of our skin. Especially nowadays, with all this pollution and makeup we use so much.
