The Real Way To Slim Your Face With Make-Up

Relying on cheek contour alone won't actually slim your face.

A lot of make-up tricks are outdated, fashion changes and make-up is a part of that

It's drilled into you that the only way to achieve a slimmer face through make-up is heavy amounts of contour on the hollows of your cheeks, and that simply isn't true. There are many areas on your face that when enhanced, can make your face appear thinner, and younger.

Tip #1: Apply Contour On Your Temples

Adding contour to your temples and blending upwards from the outer corners of your eyes will make all the difference, and its perfect for both wide and slanted eyes.

If your eyes are more round and wide try applying less contour on your temples and focus on blending the little bit that you did add into a straight line. This will help reduce how round your eyes look and will make you look sharper and more intimidating.

If your eyes are more slanted and small, don't add the contour too high up on your temples; focus instead on applying from the ends of your eyes to the centers of your temples.

I think it goes without saying to be careful with the amout of contour you use, especially since the eyes are one of the first things we notice about someone. Its best to use a shade of contour that you can build on, as you can always apply more, but once you've added too much its back to square one.

Tip #2: Concealer Is Your Best-Friend

Properly applied concealer can easily knock ten years of your face, no joke! It's also vital when it comes to slimming your face believe it or not.

As you can see above, these are your concealer areas, and you can read about what the placement does to your face above. Personally I've found that concealer under your brows is only good to give your eyebrows definition, and it doesn't do much for your eyes. I would stay away from it if you're going for a more natural look.

Concealer brightens your face and for slimming we don't want it to brighten your face too much or else it'll look unnatural. Its best to stick to a concealer that is one or two shades lighter than your skin tone so that when it's blended it doesn't look like you have any on, but still does the job of hiding dark circles or diminishing the appearance of wrinkles.

Setting powder is a must, it'll keep your skin from being oily and will give the appearance of perfect skin. The Airspun Loose Face Powder is my favorite and will work great on anybody. You can buy it here. It's very inexpensive and will easily last you six months or more.

Tip #3: Don't Overdo The Cheek Contour

Contouring your cheeks is one of the most important steps when it comes to slimming your face but for the love of God please don't overdo it. Find a contour that is a little lighter than the one you usually use so that you can build it and achieve a more natural look.

I'll also mention here that contouring your jawline might even make your face extra slimmer if you're still not happy with your face. Its a thousand times better to add contour to your jawline then it is to pack on the cheek countour, its unnatural to walk around with so much and it might even earn you a few weird looks.

Tip #4: Fake Eyeliner Will Turn You Into A New Person

When I found out about fake eyeliner I couldn't stop trying it. If you haven't heard about it, its very simple. All you do is use some eyeshadow to create an eyeliner wing. What's great about this is that you control the opasity and can adjust according to the look you're going for.

This example below is from a women who got it permenantly tattoed. You of course don't have to go to such extremes, but I hope the visual aid can encourage you to try it at home.

It may not seem like It'll slim your face but trust me it will. It will also have the added bonus of making your eyes look more alluring and seducing without having to do much make-up.

Combined these tips should take you between 10-25 minutes depending on how fast you are and how many extra steps you may decide to add.

I hope that with these tips you can find a new way to do make-up and feel more confident, I know that once I tried them I felt more self assured and even wore the make-up to work.

Play around with the tips and you'll really see the difference.
