Ok, let me start off by saying I'm not usually the type of person who is influenced easily. I'm pretty individual and feel like I can make my own mind up in regards to what I like or what I think will work or not work for me, but oh my word! It's happened, it's finally happened, I've been influenced and I couldn't be more grateful!

Let's go back to the 'before' me, before the influencing. The sceptic in me had scrolled through Instagram and Facebook for years seeing AD's and product placements and recommendations from people I'd followed in good faith and the first thoughts I always had were "Oh come on, these people are being paid to say how good this product is, they don't actually use it or believe it's that great! Well they're not getting me, I see through all that marketing crap", and then I'd keep scrolling feeling pretty happy with myself that I hadn't been sucked in by it all. Now of course there are obviously creators out there who still actually do that, but then there are some who give such a genuine review and recommendation that you just can't help clicking on the link!

It wasn't just one influencer that enticed me to try this product though, I had seen people using it across all forms of social media - Zoe Sugg's beauty crew, Anna Saccone Joly, Life as Kikay to name just a few and I had also seen amazing reviews on websites like Sephora, The Iconic, Amazon and the official L'Occitane website with a combined 9/10 stars with well over 2000 independent, real-life-people-like-me reviews. I could feel the tingling in my core, the need to sort out the fine lines around my eyes and forehead, I felt the heaviness in my index finger as it came down hard on the 'add to cart' button. I felt it all, as I proceeded to the checkout.

The product I'm talking about is Reset Serum by L'Occitane. If you have never tried this product I urge you to do a quick google search, read some reviews and of course make your own mind up, but I am confident that if you buy it, you will love it!

It is an oil-in-serum night time only product. Our skin cells are more active and receptive at night while we are resting so it is the perfect time to use a serum like this - just put it on and let it do its magic overnight! The website states that you will be able to see results within one night, which of course, my inner sceptic liked to question, but I must admit, when I woke up the morning after using it, I did indeed look more refreshed, awakened, hydrated and just well-rested. I am a Beauty Therapist so I do look after my skin but after years of avoiding any type of oil based products due to an oily skin type, my skin had definitely lost a lot of nutrition over time and my barrier function had certainly seen better days. Reset Serum is a booster treatment which amazingly can be used on any skin type or condition and at any age. It's a real all rounder and if you're looking for a wow factor type product, I believe this could be it!

The L'Occitane website states some impressive stats about the Reset Serum.

After 1 night, 91% of skin looks awakened, 81% of skin looks luminous and 97% of skin looks rested and fresher.

After 7 nights, 100% of skin looks rested, 97% of complexions have a healthy glow and 90% of fine lines and expression wrinkles are less visible.

After 28 nights, 100% of skin looks transformed and re-energised, 100% of skin looks replenished with moisture and plumped and 90% of skin is younger looking.

The main ingredient in Reset is the Immortelle essential oil. They grow their Immortelle flowers in Corsica and make the product in their labs in Manosque in Provence, South of France. L'Occitane have patents on the Immortelle essential oil so that is why you don't see other companies using it. In their lab testing's they have discovered that it stimulates human fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and elastin, in fact it is 6x more effective at doing this than vitamin C. It also has a plant extract that "mimics the effects of Botox" to help reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles and relax the facial expression lines.

I have been using the serum for over a month now and on my skin I have definitely noticed a softening effect on the fine lines around my eyes and the fine "11" lines between my eyebrows. My skin is much softer and more plumped and hydrated and my complexion has an overall evenness and brighter look to it. I skipped a night 3 days ago when I was so tired I forgot to remove my makeup and just crashed into bed (I know, I know, so naughty!) and I will say I really noticed the difference not using it. It's safe to say I won't be doing that again!

Now you may or may not be familiar with L'Occitane but it is a French company with most of their ingredients being grown by them and each product being made and packaged in Provence. With this high quality comes a relatively higher price point. She's a bougie product with a price tag of $95 AUS for a 30ml bottle or $135 AUD for a 50ml bottle. Using as recommended every night, I would estimate a 30ml bottle should last about 3 months. One thing I will say is one pump is enough to cover the whole face and I put any excess onto my neck. Don't overuse as the product glides and spreads well and remember you need a moisturiser over the top to hydrate your skin properly over night too.

As I said I truly do recommend this product and I don't say that lightly! The fact that it acts like a booster to any skin type and any age group I think is wonderful as anyone can incorporate it into their skin routine. A once only at night application is super handy too! Application techniques and more information is available on the L'Occitane website and do make sure to have a google and check out all the independent reviews too! Oh and let me know if I have influenced you to buy it!

Reset Serum can be bought at many different sites but the official website is: www.loccitane.com.au
