My Review of the Briogeo Banana and Coconut Superfood Shampoo and Conditioner

I love bananas and I love coconuts..Does this live up to my expectations?

When it comes to hair care, I didn't really care too much about the products I was buying or what I was putting into my hair. I have frizzy, combination hair (curly and straight but more on the curly side) and never liked it growing up. I used to buy products that were two in one (like shampoos and conditioners), heavily scented and that have a bunch of chemicals in them that I couldn't pronounce. Now, I am making more conscious purchases when it comes to my hair.

As years passed, I've learned to love my hair and all of its craziness. With learning to embrace my hair, I decided to really do my research about the products I was putting in my hair. For example, I wanted to really enhance my curls and make them more voluminous and had no idea that all the products I put in my hair contained sulfates and silicons, which gives the hair a fake shine, weighs it down and causes lots of build up.

I had been doing my research on different brands that really focused on the health of the hair. I was looking for a shampoo and conditioner that was good for the hair as well as having a strong but natural scent. Then I found Briogeo. I stumbled onto these products and Briogeo because of Kathleen Lights. In one of her videos, she had mentioned these specific products in a favorites video of hers. I don't usually follow recommendations but because this product seemed to check off all my boxes, I decided to give it a go.

These two products come individually or as a set. I purchased the set on Sephora for $59.00 Canadian. At first glance, looking at the size of the bottles and comparing it to the price point, I thought it wasn't worth it. Personally, it was way out of my price range and didn't think it would last long but because of how natural it is, I figured it costs more because of the ingredients.

When first using the shampoo and conditioner, the first thing that hit me and that I really appreciated was the smell. It really does live up to the banana and coconut scents! The banana overpowers the coconut but I don't mind that! It wasn't an artificial scent and smelled so natural. The texture of both products is extremely creamy. Another thing I really appreciated about this combination was how little you have to use to get a full wash in. It looks thick in the bottle but when applied to the hair, it becomes so light and moisturizing. Last but not least, the final product speaks for itself. There is a natural shine that the products leave in your hair. It leaves it so light and glossy. For me, I saw an immediate change from using the older, not so good products to these two Briogeo products and my hair had so much more life and bounce to it (not to mention the scent lasts for a really long time)!

In conclusion, I believe these two products are absolutely worth the money! They've lasted me months and I wash my hair once a day every day. Although they're not the cheapest products, they're certainly not the most expensive I've found. If banana and coconut are not your scents, Briogeo does have the same shampoo and conditioner but containing apple and kale (I've not used these before so I can't compare them to the banana and coconut products). They have a wide range of products to choose from if you're looking for something in particular. I'd suggest buying the shampoo and conditioner set instead of separately as you can save a couple of dollars. If you're looking to try more health conscious products for your hair, Briogeo is a great brand start out with! I highly recommend giving the brand and these products a try!
