The new flexi flip in blonde hair

The flexi hair clip has been around for a while and it’s surprising how few people know about it! Before I tell you about the innovative flexi flip let me back up and tell you what a flexi (or flexi-8) is.

What Is A Flexi Hair Clip?

It used to be called a flexi-8 because the clip is shaped like an 8 and it is flexible. The Lilla Rose company that produces them was founded in 1992. The flexi is a type of hair slide, which is where you have something that goes over the top of the hair and then slide a hair stick through it and behind the rest of the hair.

The thing that really was game changing about the flexi is that the stick is attached. It slides and moves so it is easy to put in, but it is not a separate piece that could get lost or separated from the other half.

The hair stick part is easy to put through your hair but not super sharp, which I appreciate.

The slide part is a figure-8 shape and is made of very strong piano wire. It can flex to make it able to handle many different amounts of hair than a barrette.

There are 7 sizes of flexi clip to choose from in a huge variety of designs. The center beads have lots of things that can show off your hobbies and interests.

For the last nearly thirty years the flexi clip has been enormously popular in the long hair community. Those of us who have a hobby of growing hair abnormally long usually have a few of these because they are safe and gentle in the hair.

Flexi Clips Don't Damage Hair

A lot of traditional hair accessories can damage your hair. Ponytail holders, barrettes, and bobby pins can snag and pull hair or cause breakage on the strands.

Hair stick styles are a lot safer for your hair, keeping it growing long and healthy. (See lots of hair stick styles here)

A flexi can function as a hair stick or as a barrette. It can be used in almost any style you would do with either of those.

Why I Started Using The Flexi Clip

For me I realized I wanted something different when I had my first baby. The hair sticks stuck out too far and were too sharp. They could poke him when I held him and later he started pulling them out too.

That's when I started buying flexi clips. They have grooves to hold the stick very firmly and it is not as sharp as a hair stick and it doesn't need to stick out as far either.

Now There's A Flexi Flip

All that said, Lilla Rose has just come out with a new product that makes the flexi clip even more functional and versatile.

The flexi flip functions as three different sizes in one. Two sizes the regular way and then you can turn the pin over and get a third tight size (even better for holding a ponytail or the end of a braid).

You can purchase these through me. This is an affiliate link and I will get a commission for sharing them with you. I only recommend products that I use myself and know are going to work great for you! (And if you get the wrong size or don't like something, it's very easy to exchange or return as well).

I've always found it great to have multiple sizes. I have at least one in every size. I got the small size of the flexi flip but with my thigh length hair I think I need to get the large one too!

You should definitely give it a try! And I can help you make sure you know how to use it and give you ideas for styles.
