How Taijiquan works

Self-protection

It is said that the master of Taijiquan would call his disciples to attack him, and he sat in the middle. Five or ten disciples rushed up from every corner of the room to attack him, but when they approached him, they felt that he was like a cloud with nothing solid. It's like you can pass him without any hindrance. If you continue to hold on to the concept that you are energy, it is possible to become like a cloud, with no boundaries, to merge with existence. This legend is not just a legend. For a person who goes deep into Taijiquan, when you meet him, you will not encounter any obstacles, you can just pass him. You can't hurt him because he's not there for you to hurt.

I find that in the contact groups I join, some emotions bring out anger. I can learn how to love with the principles of Taijiquan, but I can't touch things like pain and fear.

The truth of Taijiquan can be used in many things, and it can also be used in what you say, because every action of the body may have something to do with emotion. That's why they are called emotions because they are connected to the motions of the body, each emotion is related to a particular posture of the body, and there is some kind of reciprocal relationship between them.

When you are angry, your eyes will change to a certain shape, your hands will show a certain posture, your teeth will show some energy, your upper and lower jaws will become more aggressive, and you will be ready to be destroyed and invaded. That energy accumulates in the hands and teeth, because when a person used to be an animal, that was the only way to get angry. Today's animals are still angry with their teeth and their claws, and we still carry that operating mechanism.

You can make it... But the masters of Taijiquan will not be of much help because they do not use Taijiquan in that way. Taijiquan has a lot of potential that has never been used before. In fact, Taijiquan is used to suppress, not to express.

In a way, all oriental techniques are repressive. Instead of expressing your anger, your sadness, or your negativity, that technique is developed in such a way that you can very politely persuade them to go into the unconscious and into the basement. Therefore, the master of Taijiquan can't be of much help. But you can make it yourself. Learn Taijiquan from them, but then you can do it in a very venting way. You can throw those negative emotions out through the movements of Taijiquan. They can be thrown out. You can develop that thing, it can also help others, it can become a new aspect of Taijiquan. I've been thinking that sometimes that level of Taijiquan has to be developed, and it doesn't exist at the moment.

So, don't talk about it, or they'll say no. Because the East is very traditional. They have a certain usage, and they have been using it this way for many years, and it has become so fixed that they don't even explore new possibilities. The same is true of Indian yoga, which has become a rigid science that has not developed at all for three thousand years. The same is true of Taijiquan: it has not developed at all in the past three thousand years. It has been stuck in the situation of three thousand years ago. It's like it never happened in those three thousand years.

The East is so traditional that once they find that something works, they only use it in that way. The West is good at exploring, so it can develop from oxcart to space technology. There is no way in the East, the East is still using ox carts-the same ox carts! That ox cart is the same as that of Buddha, the same as that of Patangali, and the same as that of Laozi. The same ox cart has always been used in the East.

How to use the movements of Taijiquan to vent

Just stand, keep your energy in the field, focus on the field, and then you can do whatever you want. For example, if it is anger, then you go to feel that energy rise from the field, make the form of anger like a flame, spread it over the whole body, and then relax and let the body move with those flames. you will find that the action begins to happen, spontaneously.

So, just like the flame, if you think of anger, think about the flame.

And then you watch those movements and move with that energy?

Yes, you move with that energy. Find that energy, go with that energy, let that energy form its own posture, and then start to move.

Gradually, after the experiment, you will be able to fix that action, so whenever you think of anger, these actions will occur, and whenever you think of the flame rising in you to form a shape, then these actions will happen. Try it with anger for a few days, define your actions, and then try something else-sadness, hate, or jealousy-but remember not to mix them up. If you try with anger, then spend three weeks just trying to fix it. Because it is very fixed, so you can teach others to do the same action, if he does that action, he will suddenly feel anger in him, and then be thrown out, you know what I mean

When you fix the anger pattern, you can try something else, no matter what kind of negative emotion you have, you can find that action.

Can Taijiquan be done quietly?

Yes, you can do it quietly... You can find your own way.

These sciences-Taijiquan, yoga, and things like that-are art, not real science, in which everyone can play and find their own way. One must have a very free attitude towards Taijiquan. They are not very fixed things, and there is a lot of freedom in them.

So, you can learn that art, and then use it in your own way, give it your own flavor, do not become traditional followers, otherwise they will not only help you, but will bind you. Their help to you is limited, but if you can improve them, if you can innovate, then you can get a lot of benefits.
