Hopefully we can kick procrastination to the curb. Or maybe enjoy a digital detox afterwards?

I'll make this quick, so that you can hop to it, and finally take action on those tasks that you might have been putting off. Music (some cool, recommended beats) can be like your silent accountability partner here. No different to how fasting can help you lose weight, and save you some much needed money at the same time.

Do not get me wrong; it is natural (sorry for the early pun) for nature based music to get you out of your funk, and to (predominantly) stop procrastination in its tracks. Or just to produce a whole lot more in your work/business, than what is currently the case right now. Classical music would also fall into this camp; yet if you prefer some beats that rise the tempo beyond the limits of Mozart, then please read on. Regardless of your tastes in music; one thing is for sure...each and every song featured on this beat-list has been closely scrutinised; no different to a MasterChef (aka. cooking show) judge that says that you can take the heat after all.

With the ever changing flux of the world that we are living in; it can be an obsession to subscribe to news feeds, and to check up on the news every now and then. For many of us, this was as prominent as to how quickly soap removes dirt during that once in a 100 year event not too long ago. In the first recommended song, aptly and appropriately named Tropic Morning News by the National; the bands lead singer Matt Beringer mentions that this song carried him through the darkest phase of his life, where he was hinting that watching the news was not doing his mental health any favors. This is not to imply that you need to stop watching the news, if you want to remain informed on the movements of the world; yet this song is a timely reminder to not be obsessed and addicted to watching such. There is no other song like it, that focuses on such a thing, and it is a problem for way too many of us. In fact, the American Psychological Association purports that a total of 72% of all Americans, in the 2022 Stress in America survey reported being overwhelmed by the events broadcasted, as a by-product of watching the news. It is the visual element (of news broadcasts) that is the hook; no different to the fish bait used to lure the right fish in while fishing. Less emotional attachment to a certain circumstance is found when you choose to read the news instead. You then begin to be discerning on the different between what is fake news or otherwise.

Procrastination is also a form of overwhelm, and when the mind is overwhelmed, it is exhausted. And exhaustion leads to a deeper level of procrastination. Take what you need from this song. This is one song where you need to listen to it at least 2-3 times; and trust me, this song itself gets addictive; but addictive in a healthy way. And the lyrics hit so darn hard. It has stopped yours truly from watching the news obsessively. Yes, you will still be informed on what you need to be informed on; yet you will not get inundated. This song is first and forefront in my mind, in turning a corner, and in embracing change for the better. Not only is this a cool beat; but a friendly slap in the backside to initiate more and more change for the better. Each and every word slays here. I am not joking.

Tropic Morning News - The National:

Life's circumstances can and do push and pull at your purse strings, proverbially speaking. Life can feel like a tug-o-war match, and sometimes with no hope in hell of winning against an incredibly strong person. Unexpected upsets are an obvious cause of procrastination, and this is the key message that Republica aim to communicate in their song Ready to Go. This one had to be a worthy mention, as it is upbeat and positive.

Just as procrastination is the devil when it comes to seeking out some extra comfort in life; this song helps in finding comfort and solace in another person during tough, traumatic, and turbulent times. Therefore that support and unconditional love is the tonic that most people need in order to either minimise, or kick procrastination to the curb. It is natural for people to have different opinions on the meaning and interpretation of this song; yet that is the beauty of music. It is a comforting song, in and of itself. During the journey that is called life; this is also a timely reminder of what does not kill you, is highly likely to make you stronger. Here it is:

Neighborhood # 1 (Tunnels) - Arcade Fire:

Getting stuck in a funk is the epitome of procrastination. Living in la la land is great; yet it does not do us a good service. This upbeat retro track called More Than a Feeling by Boston acknowledges that fantasy, and helps you solidify it, and to therefore get your feet firmly planted on the ground, and therefore back into reality. It is like (metaphorically speaking, or for real) wearing an elastic band around your arm, to snap yourself out of your negative thoughts (and/or for every time you procrastinate); by slapping yourself with the elastic band in such circumstances. The marks (that will still disappear in no time at all) are telling the truth.

The White Panda - Children of The Lights is a gem that is designed to get you out of your coma or funk. Dancing shoes are optional. Let there be light. This legendary dance hit enables Children by Robert Miles to meet up with Lights by Ellie Goulding. It is like a match made in heaven, and that aint no overdone expression here. Check it out:

White Panda - Children of the Lights:

AMSR music is also another worthy option, and any instrumental track by Moby (especially Love of Strings) is a great track to help you go beyond just logging onto your computer, and just staring into space. My pleasure. Here it is:

Going to read this one song at a time :) first one is a brilliant choice and new to me ❤️ I couldn’t agree more on the news. Media is heavily linked and influenced by the industries that profit from fear. Namely pharmaceuticals, chemicals, prisons, healthcare, big industry……………. Everything really. Lots of disturbed people believing they are benefitting from people operating on this frequency… which is in itself insane, because no one is benefitting from the frequency of this planet.
