The many faces of Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean fans are the happiest and most miserable fans at the same time. Happy - because of Frank's releases never upset. Unhappy - because they happen extremely rarely. But on April 3, Ocean fans had a holiday - the musician released two new songs at once: Cayendo and Dear April. In anticipation of the new album, we recall how Frank became a recognized icon of style and why he earned the status of "musical introvert."

Frank Ocean lyrics is considered to be a genius, to listen to his new releases with aspiration and a slight tremor, and admire the old ones. Frank Ocean lyrics considered being a rebel, not a bummer when he ignores the camp dress code on Met Gala and comes there in a black anorak Prada. Frank is not trying to impress anyone - he without feathers with rhinestones attracts attention. The fact that he began. The mystery is the cornerstone of everything Ocean does. He leads a closed lifestyle, rarely gives interviews, releases albums every four years, and does not waste his talent on passing releases.

YOUR ALIEN NAME

He was so restrained and sincere 12 years ago. Even though his name was then wholly different - Christopher Edwin Bro and his pseudonym were Lonnie Bro. Then, in 2008, he spent most of his time in a Los Angeles studio with the production duo Midi Mafia (Bruce Wayne and Dirty Swift), best known for the hit 50 Cent' a 21 Questions.

"Most people write about what they see. But [Lonnie] writes that she feels, tries, and touches. He uses all the receptors," Midi Mafia participants said. Even then, he began to write songs for world stars: John Legend, Brandy Norwood, Justin Bieber. The last Lonnie wrote the song Bigger, and despite the fact that Justin was only 15 then, the song featured the line 'Cause we ain't on the playground no more. Seven years later, when Frank released Blonde, it became clear that Lonnie put his emotions into other people's songs. We'll never be those kids again, - Ocean sings in the Ivy song, clearly recalling those times.

In his choice of clothes, he was never a maximalist - even in rebellious zeros, when America went crazy for gold chains, denim and cloth, Frank preferred a normcore: white T-shirts over white long sleeves, shirts, ties, buttoned cardigans. In general, the selection of arrangements by Frank was then much more outstanding than the choice of clothes.

The years spent in the studio with Midi Mafia made themselves felt - Lonnie recorded dozens of tracks that later entered the mixtape The Lonny Breaux Collection. Even then, Lonnie was seriously thinking about a new pseudonym. At first, he decided that Kennedy would be He reduced his presidential ambitions to the abbreviation JFK. Still, in the end, remembered the singer who was friends with the murdered president. He took the name from Frank Sinatra himself, and the last name from the character in the classic movie "Ocean's 11 Friends", which Sinatra played. Producer Dre Knight, who also worked on the first tracks of Frank, recalled: "My friend called me and said: "There is a video on WorldStar of a guy named Frank Ocean and it sounds like something you would do." I turned on the video and thought: "Your mother, this Frank Ocean lyrics stole a Lonnie song! I have to call him and tell him everything! "And then I listened and realized:" Damn it, this is Lonnie. Now he's Frank Ocean lyrics."

The name change is one of the few personal experiences that the secretive Frank decided to share with the public. In a 2011 interview with Complex, he said: "I changed the name on my birthday - October 28, 2010. It was the most inspiring of all that I did that year. None of us bears the names that we should really wear. And if you don't like yours, change it."

FAVOURITE THINGS AND PEOPLE

Then, in 2011, Frank Ocean lyrics released his debut mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra - with an old orange BMW on the cover. Among the first fans of the mixtape was Kanye West - he showed it to Jay Z and Beyoncé and recorded two songs with Frank for his album Watch The Throne, which also came out in 2011.

The 1990 BMW appeared on the cover of Nostalgia; Ultra is no coincidence - with Frank's love for retro cars and motorcycles, only his passion for Vans Old Skool, which he did not shoot in the early 10s, can be compared. It is also noticeable by Tumblr, which Frank Ocean lyrics has been leading since 2010. For a long time, it was Tumblr that was the most reliable source of information about what was happening in his life. When in 2011, Frank joined the Odd Future group (the hip-hop band Tyler, the Creator and his friends), the musician's entire blog filled with joint photos with Tyler and the company, new releases and short but thoughtful statements. From the thoughtful "Love always wins" to the frightening "I love my fans, but sometimes fans kill." Rare family photos can also be found there. Frank, for example, those in which he - is a grey Olympic jacket and red hat - is fooling around with his younger brother. "The child on my shoulders is my brother Ryan," Frank Ocean lyrics. "He thinks he's Prince Harry." The lady behind us is our mother. She is beautiful, like Nefertiti. And my brother thinks I can fly."

With her mother, Katone Bro Riley, Frank remains close to this day. Her touching Instagram, in which she shares all the achievements of her sons, is a vivid confirmation of this. But with his father, Calvin Kuksi, Ocean did not have a relationship - in 2012; he threatened his son that he would sue him. Kelvin wanted a million dollars - in "thanks" for the child support that, according to Frank, his father "allegedly paid." But in 2016 there was already a real trial - when Ocean wrote in Tumblr a fabulous post dedicated to the victims of the massacre at the Pulse gay club in Orlando.

"I was six years old when my father called the transgender waitress pi *** ace. He dragged me from this area with the words: "We will not eat there because it is dirty." It was the last time I saw my father, and the first time I heard this word. "Kuksi accused his son of libel and filed a lawsuit against him (lawsuit for $ 14.5 million). He lost the case - the court sided with Ocean, and the musician's lawyer said that it was "an unfortunate case" and he was "sorry that Frank had to go through this."
