One of modern country music’s breakout stars of 2023, Hannah Ellis wraps up 2023 with an emotive and heartfelt new song “Too Much & Not Enough”. The poignant track is the follow-up to “Wine Country’ – which just cracked the Top 50 at Country radio and is climbing the charts – and is the lead-in single for her much anticipated debut album That Girl, which is set to bow on Jan. 12th, 2024.

Ellis has become a force to be reckoned with in Country music this year. Her clever wordplay and heartfelt, highly relatable lyrics are resonating across a wide swath of Country music fans, and she is starting to seep into the broader music world with her dynamic and powerful live shows.

In “Too Much & Not Enough” Hannah delves into the double edged sword of social media, and how it can affect us all, especially young women in the public spotlight. The powerful and deeply personal track, written with Emily Weisband and Tofer Brown – speaks to the fine line that people must walk these days on the various social platforms: How to present oneself with confidence, but not cross the line into being too cocky or overconfident. That psychological tightrope can be an exhausting slog, and Ellis nails the sentiment in a succinct way. The song’s gentle acoustic guitar, underlaid with a mournful pedal steel line and backed by an understated but still powerful backbeat is the perfect accompaniment to the soul-bearing lyrics. One of the lines in the song is particularly telling of the fraught nature of modern direct communication: “If I turn it up I see people stressing ; If I tone it down I’m uninteresting ; My biggest curse is my biggest blessing ; Is it just me?” The push-pull of being her authentic self while dealing with the often unrealistic expectations foisted on young women in the spotlight is compelling.

In addition to the release of “Too Much & Not Enough” and announcing the album, Hannah has launched an exclusive Wine Country Weekend Giveaway in partnership with Visit Napa Valley in support of her single, “Wine Country”. From now through Dec. 18, 2023, fans can enter to win a flyaway to Napa Valley that includes airfare, accommodations, gift cards, exclusive Hannah Ellis merch and more. The songstress recently partnered with Lucchese to create a custom pair of “Wine Country” boots, and Ellis made an appearance at the iconic brand’s Houston storefront for a special performance to celebrate the bootmaker’s 140th anniversary.

Ellis was tapped as one of CMT’s “LISTEN UP” acts earlier this year and also appeared on Rolling Stone Country’s “Artist To Watch” list. An accomplished songwriter, Hannah has amassed more than 42 million career streams, and is a highly sought after for her song clever lyrical prowess: She has written songs recorded by several artists, and been featured as a vocalist on songs spanning multiple genres, including: Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce, FOR KING + COUNTRY, Cassadee Pope, FILMORE, and Sidewalk Prophets.

She has been buzzing as a magnetic live performer from a slew of highly praised tour dates of late, and has been busy playing shows throughout the year - opening for Carly Pearce, Billy Currington, and Ashley McBryde, among others. She is putting a bow on 2023 with a Christmas Show at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville on Friday December 15th.
