If there was any concert that I definitely didn’t want to miss, it was this Ed Sheeran concert.

I’d heard from many people who had attended past Ed Sheeran concerts about how he puts on a great show and last nights concert didn’t disappoint.

It was phenomenal and the crowd of 60,000, seated in Suncorp Stadium, poured their adoration upon an amazing musician and a down to earth, genuinely beautiful human being.

I had a fantastic seat down on the field, although the way Ed had the stadium set up, it wouldn’t have mattered where you were seated. Your view would have been fantastic.

The stage was set in the middle of the field, unlike the norm where the stage is usually set up at one end. This stage also rotated so everyone was awarded a great view of an amazing live performance. When the stage wasn’t rotating, Ed threw energetic lap after lap of the stage, determined to give every person in the audience the best show possible.

Ed showered us all with his talent, not just as a phenomenal singer but as a talented songwriter and showcased his brilliant musical abilities too. He was a one man band up on that stage for a lot of his songs, although he was also backed by some talented musicians in their own right, for some of the show.

Above the stage was a large round projection piece of equipment, that not only showed us all an artistically colourful display throughout the concert, but also projected Ed onto the screen. Smaller projection screens were also placed strategically around the main stage, albeit ‘floating’ higher in the air to ensure everyone could see his performance.

Song after song had the audience clapping, singing, dancing, screaming, jumping and going ecstatically wild for a night we’ll definitely all remember.

One of the highlights of the concert was Ed’s childlike wonder when he discovered a beetle chasing a grasshopper on the stage. “Only in Australia,” Ed commented with a delightful giggle when first the grasshopper and then the beetle fell from the stage.

It was a precious insight into his delight.

Ed has graciously agreed to perform three consecutive concerts in Brisbane. The first being on Friday night, the second last night (Saturday) and the third tonight.

To make last night that little more special to the crowd, Ed performed two songs that had not been performed on the stage on Friday night. I found this to be such a wonderfully caring gesture from Ed, but he is well known for his down to earth humbleness and love for his fans.

All in all it was a magical night of music, performed by a world leader of the music industry and a well behaved crowd, who showed their appreciate for such a talented human being.

Here are a number of live videos taken at the concert. I do apologise for the quality of the videos but I’m not a professional and these are taken on my iPhone.

They may not be of a professional standard but they will give you an idea of what an amazing performance Ed Sheeran kindly gave to us and I hope these can be enjoyed by any who were not able to attend.

Ed finished the last song of the night with a bang, much to the delight of the crowd, as fireworks shot up into the sky. What a perfect ending to a perfect concert.

Ed Sheeran thank you for sharing your gift with us and unselfishly giving us your all in a night that I’ll remember for a very long time.

I’m already wearing a groove into your album that I purchased as a companion to my concert ticket.

Thank you Ed Sheeran.

Please also watch the fantastic performances of the two support acts that graced us with their best before Ed Sheeran took the stage.
