Dancing With Your Innuendos
Never Enough

VERSE ONE:
The sun falls through the window
Resting softly on your face
Your smile, an innuendo
That your lies cannot erase
You said don’t worry baby
I’m sure we’ll figure this thing out
But the truth is, what you say
Exposes what you're about
*
CHORUS:
I guess it’s time to face the music
We don’t dance to the same beat
Your rhythms are confusing
And it seems, I've two left feet
So, we’re dancing with another
Even if it’s make believe
Seems we’re not meant for lovers
Wearing our hearts out on our sleeves
*
VERSE TWO:
I'm stuck somewhere in wannabe
A place I made up in my dreams
When it cannot grasp reality
And makes a fool of me
I disappear into a dreamland
Where heartache is not allowed
Where the music takes me by the hand
And gets me lost inside the crowd
*
CHORUS:
I guess it’s time to face the music
We don’t dance to the same beat
Your rhythms are confusing
And it seems, I've two left feet
So, we’re dancing with another
Even if it’s make believe
Seems we’re not meant for lovers
Wearing our hearts on our sleeves
*
BRIDGE:
I thought the beat would carry me awayyyy
I thought this dance was always meant to be
But your faithlessness got in the wayyyy
And baby now, it's to plain to see
*
CHORUS:
I guess it’s time to face the music
We don’t dance to the same beat
Your rhythms are confusing
And it seems, I've two left feet
So, we’re dancing with another
Even if it’s make believe
Seems we’re not meant for lovers
Wearing our hearts on our sleeves
*
VERSE THREE:
Our love, unveiled, like last call
When the lights come on at two
Clarity exposing every flaw
Unmasking me and you
Standing face to face, I realize
You're not the one for me
Cause real love opened my eyes
And that truth has set me free
*
CHORUS:
I guess it’s time to face the music
We don’t dance to the same beat
Your rhythms are confusing
And it seems, I've two left feet
So, we’re dancing with another
Even if it’s make believe
Seems we’re not meant for lovers
Wearing our hearts on our sleeves
*
OUTRO:
You played the game and made me pay
Took it all, down to pocket change
It was just a loan, I heard you say
Using love to get your way
But now, I control the music, babe
And you'll be replaced, by end of day

A/N
I've been listening to Hozier (again) a lot lately and these lyrics came to mind. I could hear this played in his style, or one similar. Below is the song I was playing as I wrote these words. Let me know what you hear....because that's the beauty with music, it plays itself differently to each of us.
*
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my song.
The following is a poem I wrote, I hope you enjoy it.
*
love left me feeling
paranormal
consumed my heart
nearly immortal
*
when love for life
was falling from me
cut like a knife
completely empty
*
evidence of life
carved on a canvas
etched in strife
helpless and hapless
*
left on my skin
freckles and scars
without, within
displayed stretch marks
*
storytelling with
inked tattoos
a major lift
in rhythmic blues
*
a subtle change
expanding time
you rearrange
composing rhymes
*
to keep my heart
walking the line
the one you carved
hiding your crime
*
recovering
from the loss of love
delivering
a fatal drug
*
many will try
many will crawl
asking love, why
we had to fall
