Desert Camaro
When Amy moved to Phoenix 5 months ago, the first thing she took note of was the cars. Everywhere she looked, muscle cars filled her sight. Her favorite: a red Camaro. Every day she would ride past it on her bike, the bright desert sun reflecting off the ruby red paint. After a month of cycling past it, she decided to stop and get a closer look. She looked into the window, taking a breath in as she imagined the musky scent of leather.

To Be a Clean Human. Top Story - January 2023.
Dear Egnals, It has been 10 Earth days since my last report, and I have now been a “roommate” for 3.5 Earth weeks. I am approaching my second month’s “rent check” and I have been informed that if I do not live a more hygienic lifestyle, I will be exiled. I have tried to keep a low profile while I study the Earth creatures, as you know there was a short scuffle over the human energy sources that are kept in the cold box. All energy sources are now labeled with the names of the other females, with their guidance I successfully used currency to buy my own energy sources, they have now been labeled “Samantha.” They assumed my lack of knowledge in this area was due to my “accent,” when they asked where I came I blurted out “Gorgon” without thinking, luckily they assumed it was just an area of this world they had not heard of.

Beyond the Community
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Although I had only known her father for a short time before she was born, I had grown to love him as a brother and felt similar affection as if she were my niece. Annetta was one of 10 kids born inside the bunker, the majority of us had not been outside in 11 years, the man we called “Captain” was the only one who was given access to the main gate. He had a single window inside his office, as if he were rapunzel stuck in a tower he used this window to retrieve information and supplies from his contact in the Community.

The Community
Five years have passed since I entered the community. I can still remember sitting in the courtyard with my younger sister, enjoying our lunch, when the chaos began. Soldiers in strange uniforms suddenly stood in the middle of town, almost like they just appeared out of thin air. We still don’t know if they were a part of the government, or if they were against it, but the country I once knew is gone.

Should We Be Lying To Kids?
‘Tis the season! Every year children around the world get excited about all the wonders that come with the holiday season. Festive lights, hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows, hanging ornaments, and a make-believe man who breaks into your house through the chimney, bringing you presents if you’ve been good, and coal (for some odd reason) if you’ve been bad. While many children are happy and smiling at the idea of Santa coming to visit, many children are sad, or angry, or maybe they really just don’t care, as they suddenly realize it was all a lie, and their parents were Santa all along.
