The Real Iron Man: 15-Year-Old Uses Body to Shield 20 Students From Gunfire
Anthony Borges saw Nikolas Cruz armed with an AR-15 as he walked up the stairwell to the third floor of Building 12 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Borges and other students on the third floor heard the chaos and gunfire underneath them. Students weren't sure exactly what was going on but knew danger lurked about. They attempted to hide inside of classrooms.

The Mysterious Disappearances of Four Seniors From the Laan Farm
Joan Lawrence, a 77-year-old known as Cat Lady, disappeared in 1998 from a farm in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada. Investigators handling Lawrence’s disappearance learned three other elderly people had disappeared from the same farm: 90-year-old John Semple, 71-year-old John Crofts, and 70-year-old Ralph Grant.

Mother Allegedly Beat 3-Month-Old to Death, Blamed 3-Year-Old, Claimed She “Was Jealous”
Alisha Parker, 28, allegedly beat her three-month-old to death and then blamed her 3-year-old daughter, saying she was jealous of her new brother. Police charged Parker with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

Child K*ller Susan Smith Says She’d be a “Good Stepmom” as Parole Hearing Nears
In October 1994, Susan Smith drove her vehicle into the river with her two young sons. 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alex strapped into their car seats. Before authorities found the vehicle with the boys strapped inside, Smith pleaded for their safe return on national TV, claiming a Black man had carjacked them. She was convicted of their deaths and sentenced to life in prison. Now, 30 years into her sentence, Smith hopes a parole board will see it fit for her release when she appears before them in November.
