Forbidden Love
Chase Marley couldn’t believe he’d finally had a chance to be a part of a dive of a lifetime. As a young man growing up with wealthy parents in Florida, he had fallen in love with scuba diving as a teenager. His parents had allowed him to get his scuba license while he was in high school. Since then he’d completed over two hundred dives which was pretty impressive for being just twenty-five years old. After high school he’d forgone college and with a loan from his father started an underwater boat cleaning business called Clean Dive. The business built up a relatively long list of steady clients very quickly. Chase had been proud to pay his father back the money he’d borrowed within three years of starting the business. The success of his business allowed him to explore his true passion in life, scuba diving.

A Fork In The Road
Fork in The Road When I was eighteen years old, I had to make a decision that would define the rest of my life. I wasn’t aware at the time how big the decision was going to be but with very little life experience and foresight I made the best decision I could and hoped for the best. Now in my mid-forties I can appreciate how the decision I made at a critical point in my life shaped my future decisions and led me to where I am now.

Hide and Seek in the Dark
Hide and Seek in the Dark I grew up in an unconventional household, but I have some of the best childhood memories. My mother and father were never married but he was always in my life. My mother’s best friend ran away from home when she was thirteen and my grandmother took her in, so she just became my mother’s sister and my aunt. Well my aunt had two boy’s and my mother had me and neither of them had a husband. The two “sisters” decided to move in together and raise us as siblings. So, my brothers are not connected to me by blood except for the younger one who is technically my cousin but that’s another story for another day. Now you understand the lineage I will tell you my older brother is two years and two days older than me and my younger brother is three years younger than me. This arrangement worked for the “sisters” because my mom graduated from college and had a good job that allowed her to provide for the family and my aunt was able to stay home and take care of us rambunctious kids so they didn’t have to pay for child care. One of my favorite stories is our infamous game of hide and seek in the dark which resulted in a call to 9-1-1 and a visit from the local police and the paramedics.

The Three Amigos
I nominate Ace, Moses and Frankie (from left to right) as my EmPAWyee's of the month. Each of these dogs have a special story that endear them to my heart. Like many people during this pandemic I'm working from home, so I set up my office in our sunroom. I am a quality engineer for a semi-conductor company, and I spend most of my days in Microsoft Teams meetings, creating trainings, and completing paperwork. Sometimes my days are tedious and monotonous but whenever I look to my left and see these three just relaxing on the couch enjoying their life it brings so much joy to my heart. These three came to us in different ways and they have distinctly different personalities, but I couldn't imagine life without them now.
