Golden Milk Powder
This time of year I try REALLY hard not to catch the flu or cold before the flu season hits. Once I get the flu or a cold, I seem to be sick for the entire flu season. I get the flu shot but it does not cover you for every flu virus out there. The scientists study the trends and make an educated guess which flu bugs will be the worst during flu season.

Pumpkin Gnocci with Sage Nutmeg Butter
Hello, my name is Pyxy, and ... I cannot stand pumpkin lattes. There! I said it! Don't get me wrong - I <3 pumpkin, just not in my coffee. I admit I fell for the hype and ordered a pumpkin latte when out with friends - last fall, not this year for obvious reasons. And the verdict?

Cashew Chicken
Eating out and being on a gluten-free diet can be frustrating sometimes. Some restaurants still seem to think that providing a gluten-free option means they can only use salt and pepper and usually the sauces are left off dishes that need them leaving them very bland and not appealing when you look around at the amazing looking food on other people's plates. One restaurant I visited, and have not been back, told me that for gluten-free I cold have an unseasoned steamed chicken breast and a dry salad. And it was the same price as the full meal. So, you learn to cook because one can only have so much dry salad - seriously who can't mix oil and vinegar?

Spicy Crispy Tofu
I REALLY love spicy foods. I swear I go through Sriracha sauce like its catsup. So, when I ended up with a block of tofu that a friend did not want to eat, I knew I needed to create a spicy sauce to make it less "boring white sponge" and more "Yummy! Can I have some more?"

Ginger Soy Sauce
I have always had a fairly refined palette. Even as a child. I gravitated towards strong flavours. I loved blue cheese, garlic and onions; no milk chocolate for me, but, leave the unsweetened bakers chocolate within arms reach, and, I would power through the whole thing.

Lentil Soup
Fall: The time of year when the air is starting to cool and you can just feel fall approaching and when I tend to make a lot of soups. I don't know about you but during this time of year, I always feel cold and since I can really only drink so much coffee, I make soup.

Sauteed Mushrooms
One thing I really miss from the days before I was diagnosed with Celiac - besides bread - is mushroom tarts. One of my fondest memories from when I was a child is making mushroom tarts with my mom for family gatherings. Growing up, it seemed we had family over for birthdays, weddings and holidays every other week. So plenty of time was spent in the kitchen making cookies, pies, tortierre and my favourite - Mushroom Tarts.

Roasted Mushroom Potato Salad
Many mushrooms are pretty, like the one in the above photo. But, beware of eating just any old mushroom you may find in the woods. Generally, the prettier the mushroom, the more chance of it being poisonous. This is why I opt to buy my mushrooms at the store. However, if you are the foraging type, take care and know which mushrooms are edible before popping it in your mouth.

Mrs Huston's Seafood Stew
Photo courtesy of https://www.pexels.com/@markusspiske My first attempt at one of my Mother in Law's recipes. The above picture is not mine I must admit. I tried to take a picture of it but it looked - soupy? I tried but none of the pictures I took did it justice so I headed over to Pexels.com and found a picture that looked like mine should have looked.
