Socialism in the 21st Century
Socialism: some thoughts on its relevance in the 21st century. Socialism is defined as an economic theory or system in which the means of production, distribution and exchange are owned by the community collectively, usually through the state.

Allowing Totalitarian Regimes to Take Over
The causes of totalitarian regimes taking power: In Germany, between 1930 to 1940, there was starvation, there was extreme poverty, there was total despair, and no one did anything to help the suffering except one man who came along in the name of the National Socialist Party. He promised salvation, food, strength, power, and pride. What would you do? Assume you have no knowledge of history, you are living in despair, and your children are starving. Would you follow someone who gives hope? You have nothing to lose.

Harm By Accusation
I see many examples of demands that someone should make amends for “harm done” in the past. Allegations are treated as if they are irrefutable fact. The accused is publicly punished. The Right Age to Vote
The British Labour party is calling for voting age to be reduced to 16. I have never known a person aged 16 years, including myself, that I would trust to make sound judgments about the future of the entire nation. Are the Days of Honest Debate Over?
Are the days of honest debate over? Are we on a decent to continuous confrontation? It is widely acknowledged that if you are in a debate, before presenting ideas that oppose those presented by another; you talk about the parts of their view that you can agree with. Then, when you present your opposing ideas, the debate is already a discussion rather than outright confrontation. Your opponent now understands that you can see some merit in his or her position and so they are far more likely to accept at least part of your views, even those they initially disagreed with.

Meeting Housing Needs
What can we do about homes for all? How can we provide decent homes for everyone? If each nation is to provide homes for all those permanently living within its borders, the first thing necessary is that all authorities and their political opponents become honest, find and face facts, and act to deal with the realities shown by those facts and not play politics with peoples' lives just to get ahead in the opinion polls.
